1. What is community organizing?

It is a core competency in social work that is fatal to reinstate democracy at the grassroots level and
animate citizens to flatter a more agile member of our civilization. Its focal point is to overhauling
fragmentary social systems, considering about subsequent changes to peoples' lives, and legitimizing
vulnerable or oppressed populations. It uniting local citizens around a common concern, ranging from
preventing crime and reducing toxic wastes to fighting prejudice and creating community-building
projects. Also, it hires individuals to develop programs, raise funding, or recruit or train leaders and
other participants to work toward a specific community goal.

2. What are the characteristics of an effective community organizer in your own perspective.

A competent and effective community organizer should be insightful, relatable, honest, responsible,
and compassionate.

Being insightful can help a organizer be more effective in communication to know the needs of their
team or group. The most effective organizer have goals in common with their followers.

If something is relatable, it means you can relate to it—you can identify with it because you've
experienced it or something similar. If someone or something is relatable, you feel an emotional
connection with them. The characters are well drawn and relatable.

Honesty may be seen as transparency and openness- your willingness to communicate what you’re
thinking or feeling, even when it is uncomfortable or unpopular. Honesty may be seen as a willingness
to listen and discuss issues before the data is completely thought through, when available alternatives
are not fully crystallized, and when decisions are not yet final. It may also be seen as keeping your
word, following through on promises, and delivering on time.

Being responsible organizer means you know how to respond to situations maturely and professionally
while also being able to perform and complete the tasks given to you. A responsible organizer also has
an obligation to commit to a specific ability or comply with certain rules. They never think they’re
above certain projects, assignments, or tasks, and they’re always willing to help others when needed.

Compassionate leadership is the practice of using your head and heart to inspire and influence people
so they can, in turn, inspire and influence others. Compassionate organizer use their influence to
positively impact themselves, others, and the planet.
3. If you will conduct a project in your own community what would it be? Why?

Garbage is one of the problems of our community today, so if I will conduct a project in my community
it should be "ZERO WASTE".

“Zero Waste” is an advocacy campaign that aims to guide people in changing their lifestyles and
practices towards sustainable systems in an ethical, economical, and efficient way, and to ensure that
wastes become valuable for other uses.

The way we dispose our waste is troubling. What is worse, in this decade alone, it would seem that
waste disposal has become more careless. What we have failed to do is to put into action the ideas we
believe will help us mitigate or adapt to climate change.

The project seeks to reduce the final disposal of solid waste in sanitary landfills, promoting small,
medium and large entrepreneurs to recycle various materials, and use organic waste to produce compost,
in order to migrate to a more efficient and environment-friendly circular economy. It also promotes
differentiated collection in homes, ensuring that composting inputs and reusable materials are not
contaminated and can be reintroduced to the different production cycles. This new induced behavior
will promote major changes in public and private solid waste management models.
