1. OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE:
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to: Demonstrate a working knowledge of computing concepts, components, and operation to accomplish educational and career tasks. Perform basic operating system tasks using current operating system, such as run a program, find a file, create a folder, copy a file. Identify, explain the purpose of, and use the hardware components of a computer, e.g., CPU, monitor, hard drive, floppy drive, keyboard, printer, mouse, etc. Perform basic word processing operations including creating a new document, performing simple editing, cutting, pasting, and formatting operations on the document, printing, saving, and retrieving. Perform basic spreadsheet operations including creating a new worksheet, entering numeric values, labels, formulas, and simple functions, performing simple editing and formatting operations on the worksheet, printing, saving, and retrieving. Perform basic operations on Microsoft Access Perform integration. Demonstrate skills with presentation software ranging from basic knowledge to being able to create and present a slide show.

3. STUDENT REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETION OF THE COURSE:
Do the weekly reading assignments (about one chapter per week). Do the weekly simulation/grader project assignments following the instructor’s directions.
4. GRADING PRACTICES: Final grades are based on the following schedule: Weekly Activities 100%
5. RULES CONCERNING STUDENT ABSENCE:
Attendance will be taken each week. You are expected to sign in and complete the assignments online. An absence is recorded when you do not sign in. Maximum number of absences permitted is one week in the whole 14-week semester. Please notify me in case of illness, prolonged absence, or emergency. Despite absence, you are responsible for all the work, including announcements, assignments, and deadlines. If you stop attending class without proper withdraw procedure, you will receive an "F". The final grade of "W" is earned by the student officially dropping by mid-semester.
9. Grading System Semester grades are available to students on the student portal (MySCCC) at the close of each semester. The instructor’s analysis of each student’s academic achievement will be in accordance with the following grading system:
