III The purpose of the term-paper is to make you an expert in some phase of Finance i.e. Financial Markets, Products and Services, Risk Management, Banking, Derivatives, Investment, etc. The term paper topic should be related to the management of institutions or specific aspect of the markets or products and services. A paper based solely on textbook sources is NOT acceptable. The paper should be based on current research articles as well as other reading materials. A careful study of a specific problem, its probable solution, any new financial concept, critical analysis of any current financial event as it relates to financial markets or products or services only will be acceptable. The paper should be well written in terms of neatness, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, paragraph structure and correct English usage. Proper end-notes and bibliography are required. Purely theoretical paper is NOT acceptable. As a general guideline, the paper should be approximately 20-25 pages long, typed, 1.5-spaced (excluding bibliography and appendices). The paper is due on September 06, 2011. I will be flexible in approving topics. You are encouraged to discuss with me topics of special significance to you. Some SUGGESTED AREAS for topics, in case you are not able to think of one, are given below. The students should choose a very specific topic and do in-depth research on that topic.
