SUBJECT: Dissemination of the Hospital Health Information Management Manual,
Edition
The Health Facility Development Bureau (HFDB) has finalized the development of the
Hospital Health Information Management (HHIM) Manual, 4th Edition. This Manual complies
with the standards of care in health facilities and serves as one of the relevant bases in developing
quality health service delivery.

The latest edition of the HHIM Manual defines the Philippine Health Record Standards
by combining the updated regulatory/mandatory policies and international standards of health
record management practice. It is one of the HFDB’s targets in providing tools for more efficient
operations of the Health Information Management Department (HIMD) to meet the needs in the
development, promotion, and enhancement of quality health record management in public and
private hospitals and other health facilities.

Dissemination of the HHIM Manual, Fourth Edition to all concerned is hereby requested.
