Puppet show script
(Don't narrate the first part)
*2 policemen walking by and one of them bumps into the criminal and drops their wallet*
*the criminal notices the fallen wallet and looks up to the crowd as if he’s talking to them*
Criminal (Ethan): The policeman dropped his wallet… Maybe I should take it
Angel (Nathan): No! Don’t take it! Give it back to the policeman, and do the right
thing.
Devil (Kiersten): don’t listen to him! Take the wallet, you need the money! Think of
the stuff you can buy with it!
Criminal (Ethan): Hmm… Maybe I should just take it? I mean, after all, I really
wanna get that new watch..
Angel (Nathan): No! Don't give in to temptation! Give the wallet back, and earn
your money honestly!
Criminal (Ethan): how about no?! After all, it’s not like anyone’s gonna catch me
doing this as long as I do it discreetly…
(Devil starts laughing when the criminal says no, this can only be a little giggle to
show that he has given in to temptation)
Devil (Kiersten): Good, good! Hehehe now we can use this to buy the watch you
really want…
Criminal (Ethan): You’re right! I’m gonna head to the mall now and buy it!
Angel (Nathan): Oh no…
(Curtains close and then we change the perspective to the 2 cops)
Storyteller 2 (Kiersten): As the cops continued walking past the criminal and
bought a donut in a bakery not so far away from where the cop dropped his wallet,
Storyteller 1 (Nathan): He tried to feel his pocket in where he kept it, but felt no
bump and thought that something was missing.
Cop 1(rojo): Hey I feel like something’s missing…
Cop 2 (Jonathan): What do you mean?
Cop 1(rojo): Uhhh I can’t feel my wallet anywhere (starts panicking, rubbing every
part of his body where he could’ve possibly put his wallet)
Cop 2 (Jonathan): Great, did you lose it again this time?
Cop 1(rojo): I think it fell out of my pocket when I bumped into that guy by the road!
Cop 2 (Jonathan): Well what are you waiting for? All your money is in there, let’s go
see if that guy has it
(Curtains close and we go back to the perspective of the criminal, the cop’s wallet
in his hand putting his money in his own wallet)
Criminal (Ethan): Well I should probably just take his money and leave his license
and the rest of his important stuff in his wallet, I’m not that coldhearted
Angel (Nathan): That’s right! But you also have to give the money back. Honesty is
the best policy, remember?
Devil (Kiersten): Don’t fall for his shenanigans. I recommend that you take
everything including the wallet so they can’t trace your fingerprints on it.
Angel (Nathan): Wha-, I-, That’s insane! I mean they would still be able to catch you
with your shoe prints, but it’s better to just leave the wallet as it is and give it back
to prevent going to jail!
Criminal (Ethan): Oh, you’re right… I really don’t wanna go to jail, maybe I should
just give it back…
Devil (Kiersten): No! Take it all!
Angel (Nathan): Be nice and honest. Give the wallet back and you’ll surely be able to
make money in another way without having to sort to this method!
Storyteller 2 (Kiersten): As the Angel and Devil were busy bickering,
Storyteller 1 (Nathan): the cops arrived and saw the criminal with the wallet in
hand.
Cop 1 (Rojo): Hey what are you doing?!
Criminal (Ethan): I- what, no! I wasn’t stealing your money I promise!
Cop 2 (Jonathan): Are you sure? Because it looks like it.
Cop 1 (Rojo): You’re going to jail for this!
Criminal (Ethan): No, I’m sorry! I really didn’t steal your money!
Cop 2 (Jonathan): We’ll be the judge of that when we get to the Police Department!
(As the cops cuff him the curtains slowly close)
(While the curtains are closing in the background you can still hear the criminal
apologizing and the cops saying that he’ll go to jail and all that other stuff
improvise)
Storyteller 2 (Kiersten): As the cops were cuffing the criminal, he thought to
himself that he shouldn’t have had those selfish thoughts.
(By the time Storyteller 1 starts to speak the curtains are already closed)
Storyteller 1 (Nathan): Now, he regretted so much listening to the Devil on his
shoulder. He should’ve listened to the Angel.
(When Nathan is done saying his line, the background voices will stop speaking)
Storyteller 1 & 2 (Kiersten & Nathan): His Selfishness and inability to resist
Temptation have caused him to end up in this state.
(When the curtains are opening, the criminal is cuffed behind bars and Cop 1 is
questioning him)
Cop 1 (Rojo): Why were you stealing from my wallet?!
Criminal (Ethan): I wasn’t going to do anything to your wallet! I wasn’t stealing
anything! I promise!
Cop 1 (Rojo): You keep saying that! We clearly saw that you were putting my hard-
earned money into your filthy wallet! I bet you were even caught on camera!
Criminal (Ethan): No! I’m so sorry, I won’t do it again. Please don’t leave me here!
(Cop 2 walks in)
Cop 2 (Jonathan): Hey, uncuff him, someone bailed him out.
(Cop 1 uncuffs him in a disgruntled way)
Cop 1 (Rojo): You’re lucky someone bailed you out this time.
(Criminal scurries out of the cell)
Criminal (Ethan): Thank you! I- I promise I won’t do it again!
(Curtains close for a second to prepare for the next scene with the close friend and
criminal whom he bailed out)
Criminal (Ethan): Oh, oh thank you for bailing me out! I promise I won’t– (Gets cut
off by friend)
Close Friend (jz): Hey, hey. It’s alright, but don’t do that again. I know you’re a good
person and stealing a wallet isn’t you. You can be a bit stupid at times, I know. But
you should know better than that. You shouldn’t just give in to your own
temptation or selfishness. Even though you just stole something, got jailed for it,
and I had to pay your bail, we’re still buddies, and if you ever need advice you know
who you can go to.
Criminal (Ethan): Oh.. thank you for bailing me out, I’ve realized the wrong doings I
had done… I have seen the consequences now. Thank you once again and I promise
I’ll change my ways.
(The close friend sighs in relief and they both walk out the police station)
(Curtains close to prepare for foreshadowing)
Storyteller 1 (Nathan): Now that the criminal has learned his lesson,
Storyteller 2 (Kiersten): He has witnessed the error of his ways,
Storyteller 1 (Nathan): And suffered the consequences of falling victim to
temptation and selfishness,
Storyteller 2 (Kiersten): He will never listen to the Devil on his Shoulder ever again.
(Curtains open)
(The criminal is walking by the sidewalk and bumps into a man)
(The man’s wallet falls out and the criminal notices)
Angel (Nathan): Well, I think you know what to do. You already saw what happened
when you listened to him.
Devil (Kiersten): Tch! That was only because no one was being careful and it seems
that this man isn’t being careful either! …Wanna go for another round?
Criminal (Ethan): No more. I’ll return this wallet to its rightful owner.
(He picks up the wallet)
Criminal (Ethan): Sir! I think you dropped your wallet!
Man (Jz): Huh..? Oh, thank you!
(He gives the wallet to the man and the curtains close and then we bow or
something)
