 FOREWORD
We hope for a lot of things: to hear a good doctor’s
report, to win a ballgame, to get a dream job. In this
context, hope is wishful thinking or a feeling of nervous
anticipation. But in God’s Word, hope is much more.
It is alive—“living hope through the resurrection

of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3, CSB).
