GRAMMAR TRASLATION APPROACH 1-In applied linguistics, the grammar translation method is a foreign language teaching method derived

from the classical (sometimes called traditional) method of teaching Greek and Latin. The method requires students to translate whole texts word for word and memorize numerous grammatical rules and exceptions as well as enormous vocabulary lists. The goal of this method is to be able to read and translate literary masterpieces and classics. DIRECT APPROACH 2- The general goal of the Direct Method is to provide learners with a practically useful knowledge of language. They should learn to speak and understand the target language in everyday situations. AUDIOLINGUAL METHOD 3- This method of Language Learning is also called the AuralOral Method. This method is said to result in rapid acquisition of speaking and listening skills. The audiolingual method drills students in the use of grammatical sentence patterns. When this method was developed it was thought that the way to acquire the sentence patterns of the second language was through conditioning or helping learners to respond correctly to stimuli through shaping and reinforcement.

COMMUNITY LANGUAGE LEARNING 4- Community language learning (CLL) is an approach in which students work together to develop what aspects of a language they would like to learn. The teacher acts as a counsellor and a paraphraser, while the learner acts as a collaborator, although sometimes this role can be changed. Suggestopedia: 5- Suggestopedia is a teaching method which is based on a modern understanding of how the human brain works and how we learn most effectively. The term 'Suggestopedia', derived from suggestion and pedagogy, is often used loosely to refer to similar accelerated learning approaches. Suggestopedia Method of teaching, in which relaxed concentration is combined with synchronized music and rhythmic presentation to tap the unconscious reserves of the mind and thereby accelerate learning originally applied in language courses, but since expanded to a variety of learning tasks. 6-THE NATURAL APPROACH: The Natural approach is one of the communicative approaches to language teaching of the present time. The Natural Approach is a method of foreign language teaching which aims to apply the principles of natural language acquisition into classroom context. The theory and methods of the natural approach to language acquisition in the classroom are described. The natural approach is based on the theory that language acquisition occurs only when students receive comprehensible input.

7-THE SILENT WAY:

The Silent Way is based on the theory that individuals should be at the center of their own learning, and that the teacher should largely be silent and subtly provide feedback while the students explore their own abilities. Teachers provide feedback through the use of colors, and word charts. The method somewhat tries to mimic how we learn our native language, through independent exploration. Students learn through experimenting with the language and the gentle guiding feedback of the teacher. The Silent Method seems to me a mix of our human tendency to learn through our own mistakes. The objective of The Silent Way Method of language teaching is for students to work as independent language learners. The teacher speaks very little when using this method. The role of the teacher is to draw the learners' attention to the way that they are going about the act of learning. The teacher facilitates the students' discoveries and helps the students to gain insight into the functioning of the language. 8-MATEIALS: materials are tools that classroom teachers use to help their students learn quickly and thoroughly. A teaching aid can be as simple as a chalkboard or as complex as a computer program and films ,drawing, color coded, tapes or discs.

9-TOTAL PHYSICAL RESPONSE: total physical response is a method of teaching language using physical movement to react to verbal input in order to reduce student inhibitions and lower their affective filter. It allows students to react to language without thinking too much, facilitates long term retention, and reduces student anxiety and stress. In order to implement TPR effectively, it is necessary to plan regular sessions that progress in a logical order, and to keep several principles in mind.

Objectives of Total Physical Response Teaching oral proficiency at a beginning level. Using comprehension as a means to speaking. Using action-based drills in the imperative form. 10-COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH : The communicative approach is based on the idea that learning language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. When learners are involved in real communication, their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used, and this will allow them to learn to use the language.
