 What are 3 things you’d like me to remember about you from this interview

think is important that I know.

 Tell me about a regret
 What do you do outside of work for fun?
 Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
 How do you see yourself in 25 years if everything goes well in your life?

Why consulting?
 What do you think you will find most challenging about consulting?
 What aspect of consulting would you find most challenging?

 At the end of this process, you get offers from X, Y, and Z firms – how do you think
about making that decision?

Leadership
 What kind of leader are you?
 Who do you most admire and why?
 Tell me about a leadership experience
 How many people were you in charge of in your last job?
 Tell me about a time when you had to lead in a difficult situation.
 What aspect of your leadership style do you find the weakest?
 Tell me about a time when you had difficulty getting a team to work together
 Tell me about a time you encountered a difficult situation with another team member or
client.  How did you handle it? What was the outcome?
 Tell me a time when you led a project from start to finish.
 Tell me about a time you had a conflict on your team and what you did to resolve it (as
the team leader).
 Have you ever fired anyone, why?  If not, have you ever wanted to fire anyone, why?
 How do you feel about the fact that as a consultant you will have to fire people?
 What is a time you lead a team to success?  What is a time that you lead a team to
failure?
 How do the leadership roles you’ve taken at Tuck demonstrate your leadership style?

 Tell me about a time when you working that you had to work as a team to complete a
task.  What did you do specifically? What did others on the team do?  How did you tie it
all together?

 Conflict in most recent work experience
 Tell me about a team experience from your job and how you tend to act within a team
setting
 Tell me about a time when you were on a team that failed.

 Tell me about a challenging moment.
 Tell me about a time you went beyond what was expected to solve a problem?
 Tell me about a time you failed.
 Biggest challenges with a client
 Situation where I disagreed with a decision that was made.
 What is the most difficult client situation you’ve had?
 Tell me about a failure and how you overcame it
 Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult situation and how you
handled it

Strengths/Weaknesses
 What are your biggest strengths?
 A time you received feedback
 Here at X, we are big on feedback (they all are!) – so can you tell me about a time that
you were given or had to give feedback?
 “tell me about a critique you’ve received and how you responded as well as how it
helped you evaluate yourself”
 What are your strengths and weaknesses?
 Looking forward at your summer internship, what are your weaknesses?
 If you were to get the job, what qualities would make you a good consultant? What
would you not be good at?

Quant skills
 Are you quantitative? Give me examples.
 Are you good at Math?  Give me some evidence GMATs, Grades, work to back it up.
 Tell me about a difficult quantitative question that you’ve had to answer and how you
presented your answer to others
 What is your GMAT?

Creativity
 Tell me about a time when you had to think creatively about a solution to a problem
 Tell me about a time you thought about something differently/took a different approach

Entrepreneurship/problem solving
 If you had to open a store in Hanover right now, what would it be and why?
 If you could start a business, what would it be and why?

Problem-solving
