Steps in setting up cash register:
1. Set up your cash register and plug it in. Find a hard, flat surface to set your
register on.
2. Install batteries. Batteries provide backup memory for the cash register in case
of power failure and should be installed before you program any functions in
the cash register.
3. Install the receipt paper. Take off the cover to the receipt paper compartment.
Make sure the end of your paper roll has a straight edge so it will be fed easily
into the paper feed. Press the FEED button so that the register will catch the
receipt and feed it through.
4. Unlock the till drawer. The till drawer usually has a key that locks it up for safety.
5. Turn the register on. Some cash registers have an ON/OFF switch on the back
or side of the machine. Turn on the machine or turn the to the REG position.

transmits the data into a credit card verification device.

3. Secure the phone line. A fax machine uses a telephone line to send and receive
data to create and print documents. It will not work through an internet-based
phone line. Be sure to have an active phone line and a phone number for the
fax machine so your machine can transmit and receive signals to create the
documents.
4. Connect the phone cable. A standard phone cable should be connected into
the fax machine’s phone jack, which is typically on the back of the machine.
5. Add paper and ink. The fax will require a supply of paper and ink to create and
