I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to –
1. show the relationships of numbers within 10;
2. find the number bonds of a given number; and
3. value the importance of their family.

Day 1
A. Daily Routines
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Cleanliness

B. Motivation

1. Ask: Do you love your family?


How can you show that you love your family?
How do you treasure your family?
Say: Everybody of us belongs to a family; some of us are living with them,
with our father, mother and our siblings.
Call on a volunteer and ask to list down the name of the member of his/her
family. And ask: All in all, how many are you in the family?

C. Lesson Proper

1. Let the teacher present through a number bond.

2. So 3 and 3 makes 6. How about other numbers that makes a number bond
of 6. Present other numbers that makes a number bond of 6.
The above number relation is called a number bond. The 6, 3 and 3 make a
number bond. We call this number bond as number bond of 6.

3. Give another number and let the pupils tell the number bond of each number.
4. Let the pupils get their notebooks and write the number bonds of the following
numbers:

- 10 -9
- 8 -5
- 7

 Checking of Cleanliness

B. Review

1. Recall previous lesson by asking the pupils: what was our topic yesterday?
Give an example of number bond; call on at least 5 pupils.

C. Lesson Proper

1. Let the pupils answer pages 67 – 69 of their worktext.


2. Have an oral recitation about number bonds.

V. Generalization

We can represent a number addition through a number bond. For


example the number bonds of 10 are 6 and 4. Through this we can add
numbers.

VI. Evaluation:

Answer pages 67 - 72.

VII. Assignment:
Do page 73.
