PART I

Answer any five questions from this part.

1. A ball is projected vertically upward with an initial velocity, u, perpendicular to the

(ii) A pendulum of length 130.0 cm has a period of oscillation, T 1 . The bob is
pulled and released to move in a horizontal circle of radius 50.0 cm. if the
period of rotation is T 2 , calculate the ratio T 1 : T 2 .

(c) (i) Explain the term full scale deflection of a measuring instrument.

resistance of 2Ω is to be recalibrated to function as a (0-10 V) instrument.
(α ) With the help of a suitable diagram, determine the value of the
resistance required.
