GEMS INTELLIBIDDER

Wärtsilä’s GEMS IntelliBidder is a cloud-hosted product that provides Electricity Market Price
Forecasting, Renewable Forecasting, Schedule Commitment, and Bid Optimisation functions. The
GEMS IntelliBidder uses machine learning and optimisation algorithms based on automated
and forecasted data—price, load forecasting, etc.—for smart bidding. The GEMS IntelliBidder
generates and supplies a proposed optimised bid deck (bids/offers) for electricity markets (e.g. AEMO,
CAISO, ERCOT, MISO, PJM, UK ESO). The GEMS IntelliBidder provides automatic bid generation as
well as manual bid entry, integration with ISO APIs for bid submission, as well as key performance
indicator monitoring to evaluate bid strategy performance. The result: revenue opportunities by
maximising the economic benefits of real-time market operations according to their objectives, portfolio
constraints, and market trends/uncertainties.
