Have students submit answers to the general questions
1. In which month is the North Pole tilted toward the Sun– in June or December?
2. In which month is the North Pole tilted away from the Sun– in June or December?
3. In June, which hemisphere receives direct rays from the Sun– the Northern Hemisphere or
Southern Hemisphere?
Classroom Activities
Each group will create a simulator on their own using local/recycled materials.
Materials:
Earth - may use scratch-crumpled paper, coconut leaves ball, any big leaves made as big ball (beach
ball, baskelball, etc)
Source of light – candle, improvised lamp, pinlight or any flashlight available
Earth’s Axis - Barbecue stick or slider or bamboo stick as stand
Philippines - Any image of Philippine products as Philippines posted.
