Mobile phones, cameras, pagers, cigarette lighters, personal transistor radios or similar

devices are not permitted on deck.
8 You are not to use naked lights.
9 You are to wear safety shoes and helmet whilst working on board.
You are to use suitable eye protection when chipping, grinding, cutting or using other tools
10
that require the eyes to be safe guarded from chemicals or projectiles.
You are to use suitable gloves, apron and footwear when handling chemicals or oils as well
11
as sharp or hot objects.
You are to use ear protection when working in a machinery space or a space where noise
12
levels are high.
You are to be guided by the various safety sign posted on the vessel, which relate to your
13
work environment.
14 Work on board is to be carried out in a space, which is well ventilated and illuminated.
You are to comply with the work permit system when:
 Carrying out electrical works.
 Entry into enclosed space.
15  Hot work.
 Work on pipelines or pressure vessels.
 Working aloft (more than 2metres) or outboard.
 Cold work
16 You are not to enter the restricted areas without the permission of the Master.
17 Photography is permitted only with the express permission of the Master.
You are to limit the VHF transmission power to 1Watt. You are not to use the MF/HF in
18
port unless permitted by the Master.
19 All equipment is to be restored to its normal order and location after use.
The doors on the accommodation block are not to be left ajar, as this would permit gas to
20
enter the accommodation block.
The above does not relieve the contract worker from his/her obligation to comply with any applicable local
or national regulations or safety codes.
