INTRODUCTION
Introduction to Internship
Internship is one of the on-the-job training for the under-graduate students
that helps to enhance the practical and real world experience under the
guidance of the supervisor or professional in certain field and help to identify
the potential career opportunities. The internship report is prepared for the
partial fulfillment of Bachelor of Commerce, an under graduate degree
awarded by Kamal Institute of Higher Education and Advanced Technology,
GGSIPU. This internship carries 6 credit hours out of 15 credit hours in the final
5th semester of B.Com(H). The internship program is highly effective for the
students in order to attain the real world 0experience, understanding the
organization structure and their culture and to enhance their career
opportunities. Taking about my personal information, this program has given
me the opportunity to work in the real world scenario and help me to enhance
my skill, knowledge and attitude. The internship in the field of information
technology helps to increase the exposure and in-depth knowledge in the
respective technical platform. The technical industry is growing rapidly and
new technology is emerging with the speed of time so, the skill and knowledge
gain in the college is not enough to compete in the market. We need some real
world experience in the industry and the internship program helps the
students to gain the professional experience. In the B.Com course, we learn
various subjects such as Digital Marketing Strat, Performance Marketing, Data
Science Associate (Beginner), Cyber Security, DSA with C/C++, Cloud
Computing, Python Crash Course (Basic to Advance), AutoCAD, Accounting,
Business Finance, Organizational Behaviour, etc. and in the internship program
we must try to implement those learning in order to produce the fruitful
outcome.

Background
An internship program is a special course that provides students with the
opportunity to become familiar with the organizational setting. It is designed
to develop the students personally and professionally. It allows the proper
market and job exposure to the students and also enables them to meet and
build network with professionals. It enables the students to understand
organizational 2 behaviour and sharpen their practical knowledge and skill
which will grant them confidence and experience that can be used later in their
career. For the internship program the author chose to complete the
internship program under Marketing at Pregrad Offshore Base and thereby
completed the one month of internship in the Marketing Department.

Objectives
The main objective of the internship program was to acquire practical
knowledge regarding a specific field by implementing the theoretical
knowledge gained in the college in the organizational setting and to gain
exposure to the market and organizational professional. An internship program
has the following objectives
1) To harvest the theoretical knowledge into practice.
2) To build a strong career path.
3) To understand and maintain organizational harmony and public relation.
4) To gain professional education with the blend of information technology
and managerial/marketing skills.
5) To analyses the real world problem and find the solution using
knowledge obtained.
6) To get hold on roles and responsibilities at the job.
7) To enhance the academic performance.
8) To develop network and relationship with organizational professionals.

MARKETING
the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including
market research and advertising."
If you work in a marketing role like I do, it's probably difficult for you to define
marketing even though you see and use it every day.
Marketing refers to any actions a company takes to attract an audience to the
company's product or services through high-quality messaging. Marketing aims
to deliver standalone value for prospects and consumers through content, with
the long-term goal of demonstrating product value, strengthening brand
loyalty, and ultimately increasing sales.
Marketing is the process of getting people interested in your company's
product or service. This happens through market research, analysis, and
understanding your ideal customer's interests. Marketing pertains to all
aspects of a business, including product development, distribution methods,
sales, and advertising.

The 4 Ps of Marketing
The 4 Ps of marketing: product, price, place, promotion.
Essentially, these 4 Ps explain how marketing interacts with each stage of the
business.

PRODUCT
Let's say you come up with an idea for a product you want your business to
sell. What's next? You probably won't be successful if you just start selling it.
Instead, you need your marketing team to do market research and answer
some critical questions: Who's your target audience? Is there market fit for this
product? What messaging will increase product sales, and on which platforms?
How should your product developers modify the product to increase likelihood
of success? What do focus groups think of the product, and what questions or
hesitations do they have?
Marketers use the answers to these questions to help businesses understand
the demand for the product and increase product quality by mentioning
concerns stemming from focus group or survey participants.

PRICE
Your marketing team will check out competitors' product prices, or use focus
groups and surveys, to estimate how much your ideal customer is willing to
pay. Price it too high, and you'll lose out on a solid customer base. Price it too
low, and you might lose more money than you gain. Fortunately, marketers
can use industry research and consumer analysis to gauge a good price range.
PLACE
It's critical that your marketing department uses their understanding and
analysis of your business's consumers to offer suggestions for how and where
to sell your product. Perhaps they believe an ecommerce site works better
than a retail location, or vice versa. Or, maybe they can offer insights into
which locations would be most viable to sell your product, either nationally
and internationally.

PROMOTION
This P is likely the one you expected from the get-go: promotion entails any
online or print advertisement, event, or discount your marketing team creates
to increase awareness and interest in your product, and, ultimately, lead to
more sales. During this stage, you'll likely see methods like public relations
campaigns, advertisements, or social media promotions.
Hopefully, our definition and the four Ps help you understand marketing's
purpose and how to define it. Marketing intersects with all areas of a business,
so it's important you understand how to use marketing to increase your
business's efficiency and success.

PREGRAD INTERNS BECOME FACULTY

Dan Conroy-Beam, completed his PhD in Psychology at UT in July, 2016. He will
be appointed assistant professor in Evolutionary Psychology at the University
of California at Santa Barbara. Perhaps he is one step closer to realizing his
stated goal set during the IE internship: “to become the Barack Obama of
Evolutionary Psychology." Notes Dan: “There's really no better position for an
evolutionary psychologist: UCSB is a large research school with a faculty very
interested in evolutionary approaches to studying the human mind. I'm just
elated to have this job. And my path to Santa Barbara all started when the IE
program enabled me to attend my first conference: the annual meeting of the
Human Behaviour and Evolution Society. It was at that conference that I
realized that I wanted to do science for the rest of my life. And now, almost
seven years later, I will be joining many of the people I saw at that conference
as colleagues!” Read a narrative and watch two videos describing how Dan’s IE
Pre Grad Internship experience “fostered an incredible growth environment
and opened doors for me academically that I previously never knew existed

Natasha Shrikant completed her PhD in communication in May, 2016 and has
accepted a tenure track faculty position at the University of Colorado Boulder
starting in August, 2016— one of the nation’s best communication programs.
Says Natasha, “I participated in the IE program the final semester of my senior
year. I wanted to gain research experience before attending graduate school.
Through my participation in the IE program, I had the opportunity to work with
Professor Jurgen Streck and learn discourse analytic methods for studying
verbal and non-verbal communication. This research experience helped me
succeed in many of the subsequent graduate courses I took in my Masters
(University of Illinois) and PhD (University of Massachusetts) programs, and
today I still use discourse analysis for conducting my own research. Overall, the
IE program provided me with a strong foundation in research that contributed
to my current success as a scholar of communication.” Communication Studies
IE Pre Grad Internship alumnus Robert.

McDonald successfully completed his Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina

in 2016. He accepted a lecturer position at the University of Kansas. “There’s
no doubt in my mind that my semester in the Intellectual Entrepreneurship
program as an undergraduate,” notes Robert, “prepared me for earning my
doctorate at the University of North Carolina. My mentor, Dr. Bryan McCann,
modeled for me the rigor, the focus, and the values of graduate education. I
hope to pass on the lessons I learned from him and the program as a whole to
all of my future students. Many thanks to Dr. Richard Cherwitz and IE!” When
Robert began his doctoral program he made a video describing his IE
experience, noting how it allowed him to "peer over the edge into a world that
excited him.

Megann McGill was both an IE Pre Grad intern and mentor. She completed her
PhD in communication sciences and disorders in 2016 and began a tenure-
track faculty position at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon in
September (2016). She notes: “The Intellectual Entrepreneurship (IE) program
is an exceptional opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a
graduate degree. As an undergraduate IE student, I shadowed graduate
students in speech-language pathology who shared advice about selecting and
applying to graduate programs, allowed me to observe them as they
conducted diagnostic evaluations in the UT Speech and Hearing Clinic, and
taught me to score and interpret standardized speech and language tests.
Through this unique internship program, I participated in hands-on clinical
experiences that prepared me for my graduate studies in speech-language
pathology. My IE experience undoubtedly strengthened my interest in
graduate school and provided insight into the rigorous clinical and academic
requirements of a graduate program. As a master's student and now as a
doctoral student, I have had the pleasure of serving as a graduate student
mentor for many outstanding undergraduate IE students through my
involvement with the Michael and Tami Lang Stuttering Institute. I frequently
reflect on my graduate school experiences with my mentees - and realized how
fortunate I am to have had the opportunity to work with each of these truly
remarkable students. I am thankful for the framework that the IE program
provides that, in turn, leads to successful experiences for both mentees and
mentors.”

Nick Brody was an IE Pre Grad intern and during his doctoral work at UT served
as an IE mentor to four students. He currently is an Assistant Professor of
Communication Studies at the University of Puget Sound. Notes Nick: “I
participated in the IE program as both an undergraduate student and a PhD
mentor. The program had an immensely positive influence on my career and
academic development. As an undergraduate, I got a taste of what it was like
to be a graduate student by assisting with research and attending graduate
seminars, which reaffirmed my commitment to graduate studies. As a PhD
student, I mentored several undergraduate students participating in the
program. I gained invaluable experience working one-on-one with my
entrepreneurs on research projects, advising them regarding their post-
graduation opportunities, and introducing them to the sometimes bewildering
world of academia. These are skills I use daily as faculty member, and I am
indebted to the IE program for providing these opportunities.”

Digital Marketing Strategy
Digital marketing strategy involves an assessment of specific goals that are
achievable through online channels. In an era when many consumers transact
business on their mobile devices, a well-executed digital marketing
strategy can be crucial to organizational success.
Digital marketing is marketing or advertising that uses online channels.
Performance marketing is a type of digital marketing that uses a payment
model in which you only pay when a certain outcome occurs.
Does digital marketing have a future in India?
According to a Goldman Sachs report, by 2025, the future scope of Digital
Marketing in the Indian Internet business will be worth US$160 billion, more
than trebling its current value. As a result, we have a better understanding of
the scope of Digital Marketing in India and its growing appeal as a profession.

Components of a digital marketing plan

a. Advertising. …
b. Content marketing. …
c. Email marketing. …
d. Mobile marketing. …
e. Paid search. …
f. Programmatic advertising. …
g. Reputation marketing. …
h. Search engine optimization.
 Owned Media — Owned media represents any communication
channels that an organization owns and operates under their complete
control. From websites and blogs to podcasts and video channels,
organizations can leverage owned media to fit just about any marketing
strategy or tactic.
 Paid Media — Paid media refers to content that third parties display in
exchange for compensation from the owner. From sponsored content to
influencer marketing and digital advertising, paid media is prevalent in
many digital marketing strategies.
 Earned Media — Earned media refers to third-party content that is
completely separate from the company or brand. In the digital world,
this type of exposure often occurs in the form of awards, testimonials,
reviews, or user-submitted content.

Performance Marketing
Performance marketing is a digital marketing strategy that’s driven by results.
It’s ideal for companies that are looking to reach their audience at scale,
because payment is based on how users interact with the content.
Performance marketing refers to a form of digital marketing in which brands
only pay marketing service providers after their business objectives have been
met or when specific actions have been taken, such as a click, sale, or lead. In
other words, it is performance-based marketing.
Performance marketing works when advertisers connect with either agencies
or publishers to design and place advertisements for their company on any
number of performance marketing channels — social media, search engines,
videos, embedded web content, and more. Instead of paying for an
advertisement in the traditional way, these advertisers pay based on how well
their ad performs, by measuring number of clicks, impressions, shares, or sales.

Data Science Associate (Beginner)

Data Science is the area of study which involves extracting insights from vast
amounts of data using various scientific methods, algorithms, and processes. It
helps you to discover hidden patterns from the raw data. The term Data
Science has emerged because of the evolution of mathematical statistics, data
analysis, and big data.
Data Science is an interdisciplinary field that allows you to extract knowledge
from structured or unstructured data. Data science enables you to translate a
business problem into a research project and then translate it back into a
practical solution.

In this Data Science Tutorial for Beginners, you will learn Data Science basics:
 What is Data Science?
 Why Data Science?
 Data Science Components
 Data Science Process
 Data Science Jobs Roles

Cyber Security
Are you a beginner and looking to break into the App Sec field? Don’t know
where to start your Application Security journey? Curious to know what it
takes to get started with Bug Bounties? Then, this course is a great start for
you. This practical web application penetration testing course is suitable for
beginners and it covers a wide range of common web application attacks. Once
you get the foundations right, you can build your skills on your own from
there. This entry-level web security course also provides a custom web
application developed in Java specifically for this course. In addition to it, the
course also covers some challenges in a publicly available vulnerable web
application. The course provides necessary background details to the concepts
wherever necessary.

You will learn the following for most vulnerabilities discussed in the course.
Identifying a vulnerability
How to exploit an identified vulnerability
How to prevent the discussed vulnerability
Risk, Security Controls, NICE Framework,
Router, Transmission media.

Network security is the practice of securing a computer network from

intruders, whether targeted attackers or opportunistic malware.
 Application security focuses on keeping software and devices free of
threats. A compromised application could provide access to the data its
designed to protect. Successful security begins in the design stage, well
before a program or device is deployed.
 Information security protects the integrity and privacy of data, both in
storage and in transit.
 Operational security includes the processes and decisions for handling
and protecting data assets. The permissions users have when accessing a
network and the procedures that determine how and where data may
be stored or shared all fall under this umbrella.
 Disaster recovery and business continuity define how an organization
responds to a cyber-security incident or any other event that causes the
loss of operations or data. Disaster recovery policies dictate how the
organization restores its operations and information to return to the
same operating capacity as before the event. Business continuity is the
plan the organization falls back on while trying to operate without
certain resources.
 End-user education addresses the most unpredictable cyber-security
factor: people. Anyone can accidentally introduce a virus to an
otherwise secure system by failing to follow good security practices.
Teaching users to delete suspicious email attachments, not plug in
unidentified USB drives, and various other important lessons is vital for
the security of any organization.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The organization wanted to know its share & its popularity in the corporate
sector.

The purpose of methodology section in the report making is to describe the

research process that is followed while doing the main part. This would
however include the research design, the sampling procedure, and the data
collection method. This section is perhaps difficult to write as it would also
involve some technical terms and may be much of the audience will nor be able
to understand the terminology used. The methodology followed by the
researcher, during the preparation of the report was:

RESEARCH DESIGN

The research is based on the information collected by the help of the

questionnaires filled.

The first three questions aim at the basic introductory information of the
organization and the person being interviewed thus rendering the follow up
work easier. The fourth question is about the financial standing of an
organization, it gives an idea about the financial status of the society being
approached.

The fifth question aims at generating information about the various sources of
funds of the societies. The sixth and seventh questions deal about the financial
performance of the societies. The eighth question is to find out about what a
society does with the surplus amount generated by them. The ninth question is
meant to gather information about the people who are instrumental in advising
and putting to action the investment plans for the society. The tenth question is
about what kind of investments are preferred by the society, on the basis of the
organization or on the basis of the time period. The eleventh question talks
about the institutions in which the societies make their investments in, say the
banks or other institutes. The twelfth question tries to assess what is it exactly
that the societies look for, while investing. For example do they prefer a high
rate of interest, or safety, or location, etc..
Thus the research is based only on the basis of the information gathered with the
help of the questionnaires.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
For doing the survey research, structured questionnaire with both open-ended
and closed-ended questions was used.

MODE OF SURVEY
The mode of survey was personal interview with the respondents  during the
filling up of the questionnaires.

PRIMARY DATA
Primary data is that kind of data which is collected directly by the investigator
himself for the purpose of the specific study. Primary Data is collected by the
investigator through interviews of company employees, vendors, distributor
etc. Data such collected is original in character. The advantage of this method
of collection is the authentic. A questionnaire of about 50 questions was made
and it was given to the dealers to fill it up for our research. The research was a
kind of conclusive research as it helps in the testing of hypothesis. The method
of sampling was the Random method as it is unbiased.

SECONDARY DATA
When an investigator uses the data that has been already collected by others,
is called secondary data. The secondary data could be collected from Journals,
Reports, libraries, magazines, fair & conference and other publications. The
advantages of the secondary data can be –It is economical, both in terms of
money and time spent .The researcher of the report also did the same and
collected secondary data from various internet sites like www.google.com,
www.airtel.com, www.hutch.co.in   and many more. The researcher of the
report also visited various libraries for collection of the introduction part.
QUESTIONNAIRE DESIGN

We make questionnaire to know which category of people opts for which kind
of plans. In this category the factors included are such as income, background,
age, etc. This includes 2 types of questions
1. open ended
2. closed ended
1. open ended : In this respondents are not bounded to answer within a set
of choices and  can give their own views
2. Close-ended: in this respondents are bounded to answer within a set of
choices.
I have designed my questionnaire on the basis of close-ended questions as
it is more feasible to calculate data from it.

SAMPLE DESIGN:

While developing a sample design, following points should be kept in mind:

 Sampling unit: A decision has to be taken concerning a sampling unit
before selecting sample. Sampling unit may be a geographical one such
as state, district, village etc or a construction unit such as house, flat
etc. or it ,may be as social
 unit such as family, club, school etc or it may be an individual . the
researcher will have to  decide one or more of such units that he has to
select for his study
 Size of the sample: This refers to the number of items to be selected
from the universe to constitute a sample. This is a major problem
before a researcher. The size of the sample should be neither is
excessively large, nor too small. it should be optimum
An optimum sample is one which fulfills the requirements of efficiency,
representatives, reliability and flexibility

Sample element and sample unit

45 people have been interviewed to know their opinion about insurance and
finance
Extent

Delhi (sample unit)

Time frame: 8weeks

Sampling technique: Average method technique.

Sampling Technique: -

How should the respondent be chosen? In the Project sampling is done  on

basis of Probability sampling . Among the probability sampling design the
sampling design chosen is stratified random sampling. Because in this survey I
had stratified the sample in different age group, different gender and different
proffesion

Sampling frame: 45-50 People.

LIMITATIONS OF RESEARCH
i. Due to the following unavoidable and uncontrollable factors the results
might not be accurate. Some of the problems might face while
conducting the survey are as follows:
ii. Certain open-ended questions have been put in the questionnaire to
give respondents freedom to express their perception.
iii. Time and cost constraints were also there
iv. Chances of some biasness couldn’t be eliminated.
v. A sample size of 45 has been used due to time limitations.
vi. Al the data has been collected at random but it is always liable fro
biasness.
vii. The primary data has been collected from the middle and upper section
of the society.
viii. Less availability of potential respondents i.e. the concerned person who
takes care of the Administrative department.
ix. The response rate use to be poor at times because of the time
constraints with the respondents.
x. The response in public sector was not very encouraging.
CONNECTIONS WITH MARKETING PARTNERS:

Connecting inside the company

Traditionally, marketers have played the role of intermediary, charged with
understanding consumer needs and representing the customer to different co.
departments, which then acted upon these needs. The old thinking was that
marketing is done only by marketing sales, and customer support people.
However, in toady’s connected world, every functional area can interact with
customers, especially electronically. Marketing no longer has sole ownership
of customer interactions. The new thinking is that every employee must be
customer focused.
Today Pregrad recognize its operations to align them better with customer
needs. Rather than letting each department pursue its own objectives, firms
are linking all departments in the cause of creating customer value. Rather
than assigning only service and marketing people to customers, they are
forming cross functional customers teams. For ex, Pregrad New Delhi assigns
“customer development teams” to each of its major platform accounts. These
teams- consisting of service and marketing people, operations and logistics
specialists, market and financial analysts, and others- coordinate the efforts of
many Pregrad departments towards serving the pletform and helping it to be
more successful.

PREGRAD’S NEW MARKETING STATEGIES INCLUDES:

 be market and customer centered
 Target selected market segments or individuals
 Focus on customer satisfaction and value
 Develop customer relationships
 Keep old customers
 Grow share of customer
 Serve profitable customers, “fire “ losing ones
 Connect with customers directly or through retailers or distributors
 Develop customized  products
 Enlist all departments in the cause of customer satisfaction and value
 Partners with other firms
 Market locally and globally
 Assume social and environmental responsibility

PLANNING:
The process of planning may be as important as the plans that emerge.
Planning encourages management to think systematically about what has
happened, what is happening, and what might happen. It forces the company
to sharpen its objectives and policies, leads to better coordination of company
efforts, and provides clearer performance standards for control. The argument
that planning is less useful in a fast – changing environment makes little sense.
In fact, the opposite is true: sound planning helps the company to anticipate
and respond quickly to changes, and to prepare better for sudden
developments. Thus planning turns out to be an essential part of good
management.
Pregrad, usually prepare annual plans, long range plans, and strategic plans.

Broad marketing logic

Outlines the broad marketing logic by which the business unit hopes to achieve
its marketing objectives and the specifics of target markets, positioning and
marketing expenditure levels. It outlines specific strategies for each marketing
mix element and explains how each respond to the threats, opportunities, and
critical issues spelled out earlier in the plan.

Major marketing strategy:

1) Rural strategy
2) Costumer relationship strategy
3) Differentiation strategy
4) Communication strategy.
