logistics, administrative jobs and their staffing covers permanent and specialists’
placements to temporary staffing. They provide strategic HR solutions and deal as a HR
partner with blue chip multinational companies to government and SME’s.

Review of the Related Literature

Randstad is one of the top Companies in HR services Industry. Even though Randstad
claims to be no.1 Global leading staffing firm, we gathered information from some other
secondary sources to get the actual facts about the company. It turns out Randstad is

no.1 in the staffing industry worldwide as per 2020 in terms of revenue. But according
to the sources, Adecco and Manpower has more market share compared to Randstad in
terms of market share.

Valid Reasons for Company Selection

 We were able to connect with resource manager of Randstad for Interview.


 HR solution is a fastest growing business opportunity or industry in the
world...so we looked for the best company which has a international presence.
 The company’s way of choosing what clients to serve to improve their brand
image was unique and fascinating.
 The reason for being one of the world’s top HR solutions companies since 60
years is another added factor.

resource consulting firm established by Frits Goldschmeding in Netherlands in 1960.

The headquarters is Located in Diemen, Netherlands although it is being operated in 39


countries with 4861 branches.

Value for employees - They takes their employees as their crucial asset and offers them
continuous development and the career opportunities, which gives ample of
opportunities to the employees to grow and analyse their potential.

The average hours being spent on training for 2021 was 19.36 Hours per employee,
which was 19.06hours in 2019. The continuous zeal to provide the employees with the
additional knowledge and growth has empowered this.

Value for society- They have a significant impact on people’s lives by providing them
with the meaningful jobs. They are crucially shaping the world of work by maximizing

the skills and capabilities to serve them with the perfect match with their job. Providing
them with the vital training sessions to sharpen their existing skills and add new skills
as per the requirement of the job.

main aim is in the betterment of the sustainable future by contributing 100% for the
biasness free and efficient labour markets around the world.

Also committed to the UN’S sustainable development goals with the aim of eliminating
the inequalities.

The culture at Randstad is diverse as they are strongly in favour of building a


community which is free from any gender inequality and gives equal importance to the
diverse workforce. This helps in building the workforce which is 5 times more efficient
than any other workplace implementing discrimination. Gives the equal access of
opportunities to all the workforce irrespective of their different culture and regions.
Having the major stress being given on Inclusion and belonging makes every employee
feel being valued results in being the workforce more innovative, effective, and most

market of HR services.

 Unlike the Manpower, Randstad major market and clientele is big companies
such and ADT, AT&T, bank of America, Xerox, Coca-Cola, HP, Sony and so many,
which gives more profit margin.

clients better hire within competitive price.
 Their talent search strategies make them different as Randstad design specific
strategies for particular clients.

Randstad operates in 39 different countries and each and every country needs a
different kind of recruitment services based on the represented market. They provide

highest calibre talent.

Randstad provides recruitment services to superior brands as establishing themselves


as the trusted Human Partner who will not help the clients in hiring talent but also
provides services for employer branding which will help them to retain that recruited
talent. As a B-to-B company, they do not concentrate on market share rather focus of
acquiring clients with superior brands to generate more revenue with efficient service.

Finance

Randstad increases their revenue by providing services like planning strategies for
companies to retain good talent along with recruiting services.

Their competitive strategy of attracting client with superior brands and providing
strategic HR solutions for strong commercial reasons is the impact of their revenue
growth. As a corporate brand, they only do business with brands where they can earn
more revenue, this brand strategy has made them survive the pandemic without facing
huge losses as well.

Human Resources

In today’s competitive hiring market, providing required talent is not the only need but
also to retain the talent for longer period is just as important. Randstad combines
today’s technology with human resource to improve client’s labour flexibility, retention,
productivity, and efficiency and just as the same way with the help of their HR
professionals working with passion, they maintain their employees with the same
strategy as they believe that in a world ruled by technology, Human has the most
impact.

As a human resource services company, they give most importance to their employees
and keep up to date with maintaining talented employees with their best strategies as
they believe in not just the talent but also the passion is what takes the organization
forward.

The two research methodologies used for the data collection are as follows:

 Primary data: the in-person interview with recourse manager, Randstad Canada.
The interview includes a questionnaire which provide authentic information

 Secondary data: the secondary data sources are the official website of Randstad,
trade journals, business articles, and other online platforms which provides
relevant data about competitiveness

Description of important management decision maker selected for


interview and insights to strategic competitiveness and the reasons
for selection

 We have chosen resource manager for the purpose of the interview. First of all,
it’s an operation post which can provide us with the essential data and
information required to analyse their operations inside the workplace to
understand their competitive strategy better. Furthermore, a resource manager
contributes to the organisation with required talent as per the requirement of
the organisation which can be considered as a crucial decision-making role. As
per our requirements, a decision-making role of the company would be able to
give better information about the company.
 A resource manager will be able to provide their strategies to deal with their
clients and how they assign tasks to employees to come up with HR solutions.
We can gather information about how the manager is managing resources in the
Randstad Canada which is going to help us with understanding the operations of
the company better. We can also gather more information about the way they
design their HR Solutions plans based on their clients.
 As per the requirements of the project, we have to conduct in-person interview
with the chosen decision maker so that’s why we opted for this post as we have
someone working in the nearest branch at this position which will make it more
convenient to commute over there and collect data.

We are collecting Primary and secondary data as our Methodology, and most of
our research is based on the secondary data we are going to collect.
