paragraphs.

A. There are several factors that the national government must consider to solve crime

problems.

For the national government to solve crimes, several factors must be considered. They should

strengthen the criminal justice system, use an integrated approach to safety and the solution to

crimes should be ethical. The government should consider if the solution to a problem will be

overstepping boundaries.

B. Being a manager/leader is both challenging and exciting.

Being a manager/leader is both challenging and exciting. A manager is far different from a

leader. When manager tasks to get outcomes, a manager concentrates on organizing, planning,

and coordinating resources. While leaders will influence, inspire, and encourage those around

them, which will push people to attain their own goals and ambitions while contributing to the

greater good.
EXERCISE 2B. PRODUCTION. Write your own paragraph.

Recall what is going on in your community. Of the several problems in your locality, choose

the most serious one that needs the immediate attention of authorities in the local or

national government. Write a two-page essay describing the situation and identifying the

problem and its immediate and remote causes. Then propose a viable solution to the

existing problem. You may go as far as evaluating the proposed solution.

Our community faces a lot of problems and issues, but in my own opinion, it is better to

start with simple issues that have great effects on our health. This simple issue will only require

simple solutions which are easy for us to eliminate if everyone in our community will participate.

Lucena City is a highly urbanized city, with thousands of establishments, a lot of vehicles, and a

high population. But having this kind of status will come to a lot of problems, mainly in

pollution. Pollution essentially affects the quality of human life. It degrades almost everything

from the water we drink to the air we breathe. It damages the natural resources needed for a

healthy life.

Although the growth of Lucena City has been positive, but our government has focused

so much on the bigger picture that they forgot to look at the small details. Our government forgot

about what is right in front of us, pollution. Just by going outside our homes we are already

touched by pollution. Water, air and land pollution are the main problems that our government

should be treating. I’m not saying that it’s their fault, but ours also. Before we blame our

government we should accept that the problems in our community is our fault. As responsible

citizens we should know where to put our trash. Instead of always using your vehicles why not

try walking our using bicycles instead it will greatly contribute in lessening our air pollution.

When going to the beach why not pick-up a little bit of garbage lying around. It’s small things
that matter. After doing those small things, then we go to our government for bigger projects.

Our government can organize events to clean our community, we citizens just need to cooperate.

The sewers are clogged up with trash that causes floods, if this problem will not be settled it will

for sure create a much bigger problem in our community. There is insufficient drainage here in

Lucena city, and also clogged up which makes it less effective. Our government can increase the

numbers of drainages and citizens should clean up the clogged ones. In doing this we can

decrease the risk of flooding. In my own opinion they should implement something that will

reduce the use of cars daily, just like in our tricycle drivers, there days where they cannot travel.

This will avoid traffic and will also help reduce are pollution since there are not so many cars

being used in a daily basis. In our beaches and rivers, there should be a government assigned

caretaker for it to be protected, because people tend to disobey simple rules when there is no one

around to point out their mistakes, this is not only for beaches and rivers but for our community.

I believe that signs won’t be enough, what our community needs is man power, in addition this

will also help citizens of Lucena have more job opportunities. We can also plant trees, this will

protect us from floods and decrease air pollution. We must take individual steps to reduce

pollution. People should decompose their waster mindfully. Further, one must always recycle

what they can and make our community greener.

We should maintain the cleanliness of our community because our health is at risk due to

pollution. Every kind of pollution leaves a huge negative impact on our environment, human

lives, and animals. As responsible citizens, we should not contribute to pollution, but contribute

in lessening it. Remember that in order for a big change to happen first we change something

small, ourselves.
