ABSTRACT

Bus Pass Management Project in PHP is a web-based technology that will manage the
records of the bus pass. Bus Pass Management System project is helpful to bus
administration by reducing the paperwork, time consumption and makes the process of
getting bus passes as simple and fast. Bus Pass Management system uses PHP and MySQL
databases. This is the project which keeps records of the pass which is issue by the
administrative. Bus Pass Management system has two modules i.e., Admin and User.

The person has to visit the counter and have to submit the details and then they have to wait
for approval. For each and every process there is time limit specified if the person fails to go
on time, then all the transactions will be cancelled. In this existing system was used to bus
details maintain through file. And after bus information are stored to computerize. The
Project Metrics has to enter all the details of project, documents, and tasks. And, also the
maintenance team information and also efforts estimation. For this purpose, the organization
maintain the size of the document, source code and update the information about team
member’s details manually. Which is much of time-consuming process and more
importantly it is error prone. At present system this online bus pass system will help students
bus passes online and eliminate the need to stand in queues for passes.

INTRODUCTION

As technology starts growing, we need to update ourselves to current trends and our
upcoming generations looking forward for necessary services in one touch. The current
system of taking passes in the buses is a tedious process. It takes long time for taking bus
passes it involves a long queue and it is a time-consuming process. The current system of
taking passes for larger crowd leads to stop the bus for long time before the stage closing for
a long time. This increase in time delay for passengers and it hurts more for employees due
to time delay in peak hours. Bus Pass Management System can be used to apply for the bus
pass through smart phone, which helps all generation people. This system helps in reminding
user about bus pass

OBJECTIVE

Online bus pass generation system is a web development for student to get bus passes
through online. Before this implementation the manual process is used to do the process of
issuing the bus pass to the students. The manual process requires man power and more time
consuming. To avoid such difficulties, we implemented this system. Hence, there is a need
of reformation of the system with more advantages and flexibility. Bus pass web system to
put it simply, means system can provides pass identification, cancellation, updating, etc. This
website keeps all information of all Bus pass.

Passes: In this section, admin can manage pass (update/take print pass).

Pages: In this section, admin can update about us and contact us pages.

Search: In this section, admin can search a particular pass by pass number.

Admin can also update his profile.

User

Home Page: User can visit home page.

View Pass: User can view his/her pass and take print of their Pass Number.

About Us: User can see the details of website.

Contact Us: User can contact with website administrator.

ADVANTAGES

• You can find all the bus pass related information online without going to the bus station.

• This online bus pass system will help students get bus passes to online and eliminate the

need of standing in queues for passes.

• It also saves Paper work and time of students

DISADVANTAGES

• Verification of the passengers cannot be done online. They have to first get themselves

verified by visiting before using the system.

• It requires a large database and memory and its time consuming

• It consumes lot of manpower to better results

• Retrieval of data takes lots of time during low connectivity

METHODOLOGY/TECHNOLOGY WE USED

1] Xampp: XAMPP is a free and open-source cross-platform web

server solution stack package developed by Apache Friends
consisting mainly of the Apache HTTP Server, MariaDB database,
and interpreters for scripts written in the PHP and Perl programming
languages.

2] CSS: Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a style sheet language

used for describing the presentation of a document written in a
markup language such as HTML.CSS is a cornerstone technology
of the World Wide Web, alongside HTML and JavaScript.

3] HTML: The Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the

standard markup language for documents designed to be displayed in
a web browser. It can be assisted by technologies such as Cascading
Style Sheets (CSS) and scripting languages such as JavaScript.

4] PhpMyAdmin: phpMyAdmin is a free and open-source

administration tool for MySQL and MariaDB. As a portable web
application written primarily in PHP, it has become one of the most
popular MySQL administration tools, especially for web hosting
services.

5] PHP: PHP is a general-purpose scripting language geared

towards web development. It was originally created by Danish-
Canadian programmer Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994.The PHP reference
implementation is now produced by The PHP Group.

CONCLUSION

At the completion of these project, we come to know that the system is useful for students
and who want to generate the pass form online. Bus pass registration is useful for students
to get the bus pass ID, who are facing problems with the current manual work of bus pass
registration. His/her registration can be done through this. This online bus pass registration
application will help candidates to save their time and bus pass without standing in a line for
hours near counters. The administrator will verify the candidate details and if they are
satisfied, they will approve bus pass.
