Course Description:
Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High School
student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to the student’s post
secondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and become familiar
with work-related environment related to their field of specialization to enhance their
competence. Specifically, the students are able to gain relevant and practical industrial skills
under the guidance of industry experts and workers appreciate the importance and
application of the principles and theories taught in school, enhance their technical
knowledge and skills, enrich their skills in communications and human relations, and
develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work. These prepare them to
meet the needs and challenges of employment or higher education after graduation.
Work immersion can be a little bit stressful for job-seeker, especially the young ones or should I
say me. While it’s good that school are slowly integrating work immersion into their curriculum,
it’s also best if classes on self-behaviour are conducted before they are sent out various
companies.
Remember, school is different from work, in more excuses consideration. In sort, do not be late
and make it your priority. And if you have difficulties in something, don’t give up easily, take it as
a challenge for it will make you better. Keep in mind that no one has ever succeeded because of
laziness. So always push yourself to the limits. Do not take task you can’t handle, and don’t be
afraid to ask relevant questions.
As long as you conduct yourself with respect and confidence, work immersion can be fun and
successful for you Furthermore, wear your smile, always. Wear it before, during, and after your
job. Always see every day as an opportunity towards your brighter future. Demonstrate that you
are a person of Character and Integrity. Demonstrate that you can be relied upon. Demonstrate
that you will “Say what you'll do and do what you say.” Be respectful of others.
