GOVERNOR'S MESSAGE

Maayong adlaw sa inyo nga tanan!

When I ran as your Governor, I envisioned

a term which was progressive and student-
centered; hence – PADAYON: #PadayonALSP
#PadayonVisayas. Albeit simple, the word
stood to show that although a lot has
changed due to the pandemic, we commit
to serve and represent you in the best way
we could.

In virtue of our goal of regional empowerment and of inspiring you to

padayon, the ALSP-Visayas Region holds its first-ever Regional Convention,
themed: “Ipadayon ang dilaab sa pag-hiusa.”

As law students and future members of the legal profession, it is our duty to
keep up with the recent legal developments to apply it to our future legal
practice for the promotion of social justice. We shall be the future bearers in
upholding the nobility of the legal profession, in advocating for general
welfare, in protecting the rights of the citizens, and in continuing the fight for
equality.

On behalf of your Visayas Regional Board, we would like to thank you for the
cooperation you have given our association in our past events. We are
thankful for your support and we hope you enjoy the 1st ALSP Visayas
Regional Convention.

Daghang salamat!

Padayon,

Nelie France Sanchez

ALSP-Visayas Governor, AY 2020-2021

1ST REGIONAL CONVENTION

EXPLAINING THE THEME

Law school has always been compared to steep climbs and wild adventures -
but in 2020, a global pandemic was thrown into the mix. The struggle which
used to be best kept in the four corners of the classroom has been brought
to our once-comfortable bedrooms; with blackboards transforming into black
screens.

With this struggle in mind, the ALSP-Visayas Regional Board thought of a

word which would best encapsulate the heart of a Visayan law student; a
heart that is courageous, persistent, feiry, and inspired - Padayon.

It is our goal to provide Visayan law students with avenues to continuously

and holistically improve themselves. Ipadayon ang dilaab sa paghiusa - or
'continue the fire for unity' - is the Regional Board's love letter to you. It is our
testament, a battlecry to urge you to keep going even if the going gets tough.

We believe that you will persist.

We believe in you.

Gatuo kami nga maga-padayon ka.
