Week 1 NSTP
NSTP means National Service Training Program or also known a RA 9163. NSTP is aimed to enhance the
self defense of student or become defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of service.
The covered of NSTP LAW is the all students male or female starting (SY) 2002-2003.
The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) means in view of the social character there are exempted about the
NSTP.
Equivalent course unit of each of the NSTP components is shall be undertaken for an academic period
about 2 semesters for 54 to 90 hrs of training per semester.
The school authorities will manage the NSTP implementation and they supervise on the design and other
implementation of the different NSTP components.
NSTP -OSP is established for the three components: ROTC,CWTS and LTS is intended for graduating
students in baccalaureate or at least two year technical vocational who have yet to comply with the NSTP.
The National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) means created under Section 11 states for literacy and civic
welfare activities.
There are 2 guiding principles the first one is Prime Duty of the Government to its Citizens aims to serve
and protect the citizens and defend the security of the state.
And the second one is Role of the Youth in the Nation-Building is a state that promote civic consciousness
and shall develop their physical and moral valuable.
The Components of NSTP is ROTC (Reserve Officers’ Training Corps), CWTS (Civic Welfare Training
Service) and the last one is LTS (Literacy Training Service).
Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) refers to the components, institutionalized under section 38 and
39 design to provide military training to provide and train organize the students.
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) refers to the program component, to improve health, education,
environment entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and moral of the citizenry and the other social welfare
services.
Literacy Training Service (LTS) refers to the program component design to train or teach the students
about literacy and numeracy skills to school.
The NSTP-CWTS DIMENSIONS OF DEVELOPMENT are the SERVICE or is also known as S for safety
and security, E for education, R for Recreation V for Values formation and Formal Recovery, I for industry
and entrepreneurship, C for care for health and the last one is E for environment.
These are the service that we need to comply with our daily self.
Week 2 NSTP
Self Concept a self concept according to Rosenberg, 1979 (the totality of the individual’s thoughts and
feelings having reference to himself as an object) and self-concept includes Cognitive, Behavioral and
Affective component.
The first component is Cognitive Component or Self Schema means generalizations about the self that
organize the processing of our self.
The second component is Behavioral Component or Self-Perception means reflect of what we observe our
behavior to the situation in which it took place.
The third Component is Affective/Evaluative component or Self-Esteem means reflect of who I think I really
am and who I would really like to be the difference between an individual’s actual self concepts.
You and me: Understanding of Self means conception of the self was highly introspective (looking inside)
and feelings without looking outward to the actions.
WESTER CULTURE EASTERN CULTURE
William James was American Philosopher- western culture and social thought.
Focused on individual of self concept and focused on collectivistic self concept.
The Looking Glass self is a social psychological concept created by Charles Horton Cooley by in 1902,
Refers to people shaping themselves based on other people’s perception.
In lesson 2 there’s a self actualization a self actualization according to Abraham Maslow is the intrinsic
growth of what is already in the organism.

Week 3 NSTP
Law is a set of rules and principles which enforce particular types of behavior.
Morality means as a set of beliefs, values, principles and standard and is a rule which lays down a standard
of behavior which justifies censure in its breach.
Religion means a system of beliefs to bring them comfort and guidance to them.
The three main theories:
• The Liberal View (harm to others) which is power can be rightly exercise over any member of a
civilized community against to prevent harm to others, proposed by John Stuart Mill
• The Moralistic View according to Lord Devlin he believed that there was such a thing as public
morality this view is all about in a behavior of a person which is can be (harm to society).
• The Paternalist view according to Professor H.L.A Hart is pursuing your own good in your own way
is an experiment living and can be harm to self and others.(harm to self and others).
There are 7 Core & Related Values
These are Health, Truth, Love, Global Spirituality, Peace and Justice Sustainable Human Development,
Nationalism this are the core & related values.
Human Person a human person is seen as more than an isolated individual body.
Maritain is the kind of being that has the moral right to make its own life choice or decision before do
anything else without being provoked interfered by others.
Personhood means the status of being a person and a controversial topic in philosophy and law.
Week 4 NSTP
Values mean ability to make decisions that support the organization to achieve their goal and personal
effectiveness of the leadership of the team.
Imprint Period means sensitive this period is like a sponge, absorbing everything around us and they easily
hurt herself/himself this period is up to the age of seven.
Modeling Period means Copy people this period can copy their values from their family or friends and blind
belief of this period can also lead to the early formation of trauma and other deep problems and this period
is between the age of eight and thirteen.
Socialization Period means Social it can be influences by other people like their friends include the media,
the social media this period between 13 and 21.
Pre moral means we have no real values example of young children age of 1 to 5 years old doing whatever
it takes to achieve our goals.
Conventional means what are we learned about our parents, teachers, and peers. Especially if our needs
are threatened or we are pretty sure we can get away with breaking values with nobody else knowing about
it.
Principled means we believe in our values or in our own points of view, Right and wrong are absolute
things beyond the person.
Key challenges are Tradition vs. Modernity, Globalization, Diversity, Inclusivity, Environment, Exploding
world of science and technology, and Mass media.
Values can be described as spirituals skills such as honesty, loyalty, and patience are the skill that
described values.
Character values means are the universal values that you need to exist as a good human being.
Work Values means are values that will help you find what job you want it and give you a good job or job
satisfaction.
Personal Values means helps you define what you want to do to your life and assist you to be happy in life.
Week 5 NSTP
Leader means he/she assist their group mate or their teammate and the one who goes first and leads.
Leadership means is process by which person influences other what they doing and to accomplish it
successful in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.
The 7 Secret of Inspiring Leaders are Ignite Your Enthusiasm, Navigate a Course of Action, Sell the
benefits, Paint a picture, Invite Participation, Reinforce Optimism.
Continuous Self Improvement means acknowledge that you do not know everything and endeavor to learn
more to improve yourself better.
Dedication means to dedicate to fulfill your promise to accomplish your task.
Sincerity means speak from the bottom of your heart which is speak honesty and smile.
Generosity, humility, integrity, and wisdom these are the others virtue as foundation of leadership.
And also there 7 Traits of Leadership are the emotional ability means good leader must be able to tolerate
frustration and stress, dominance, Enthusiasm, Conscientiousness, Social boldness, Self assurance,
Compulsiveness.
There’s 10 Qualities to be a Good Leader are Honesty, Delegate, Communication, Confidence,
Commitment, Positive attitude, Creativity, Inspire, Intuition, and the last one is Approach these are the
qualities that you need to be a good leader.
There’s 16 Characteristic of a good leader are a Clear vision, Communication Skill, Competency, Emphatic,
Decisive, Courage, Sense of Humor, Confidence, Self Discipline, Can do, Inspiration, Ambition, Attitude,
Goal, Flexibility, Persistence theses are you need to be a good leader or a better leader to your groupmate.

Authoritative Style, Pacesetting Style, Democratic Style, Coaching Style, Affiliative Style, Laissez-Faire
Style.
And lastly there are 4 topics before choosing a leadership style this are the:
Know yourself means know yourself more believe in yourself and you can also take a leadership style
assessment.
Understand the different Styles means get familiar with the repertoire of leadership styles that can work
best for a given situation.
Practice makes a leader means if you do more practice you will be going a good leader and be genuine
with any approach you use.
Develop Your Leadership Agility means they may need to be combined with new approaches in line with
how leadership is defined for the 21st century.
