1 This document is issued for protection functions and related settings as per the scope of work. The configuration of BO, BI,
LEDs, CFC logic and settings such as CT star points, breaker residual currents, etc, shall be prepared at site as per actual
approved/wiring documents.
2 CT starpoint towards the protected object has been considered for all the protection CT cores. The same to be checked and
verified at site, if any deviations are found, then the starpoint has to be made towards the protected object (physical wiring)
as per schematics/standards.
3 The coordination of the Overcurrent & Earth fault protection settings provided only for 13.8kV Switchgear only. The
respective LV Switchgears are not covered in this document.
4 M/s. Shapoorji Pallonji LLC informed that Grid fault current details are not available and M/s. Voltech to consider based on
the inputs given. Refer mail dated on 01-09-2020.

M/s. Shapoorji Pallonji LLC informed that due to non availability of 380V MDB new switchgear incomer settings, M/s.
Voltech has to propose the settings based on the given load. LV breaker rating considered as 3200A. Site to confirm them at
time of testing. If any changes are noticed in the CT ratio, then settings would need to be modified suitably.

11.01.02 Setting calculations for Base current for differential voltage level
Since there are three Voltage levels are involved, it is understood that the maximum power among all objects
within the protected zone shall be taken as a base.
The maximum power corresponds to the following base currents on three different voltage levels connected to
the relays are,
b) At 25 kV Voltage Level,
Rated Load current on winding 2- Irated [2], = Prated / (√3*Vnom[2] )
= (40*1000)/(1.732*25)
Irated [2], = 923.79 A
CT secondary current = Irated [2] * CT ratio
= 0.92
c) At 11 kV Voltage Level,
Rated Load current on winding 3- Irated [3], = Prated / (√3*Vnom[3] )
= (40*1000)/(1.732*11)
Irated [3], = 2099.52 A

a) Pickup criteria:
The pickup is decided based on the maximum current from the two cases is described below,
Case: 1 Reflected fault current = 1091.00 A
Case: 2 11 times of inrush current is consider = 1924.56 A
From the above two cases, Case:2 is greather than Case:1. Hence the maximum current is calculated for 50 Pickup,
