Executive Summary

HP group is one of the largest business organizations in Bangladesh. It was started in 1979. At first they have started trading and then they started manufacturing, shipping, stock &

security business. PHP means peace, happiness & prosperity. In present situation employee recruitment, bonus, payment in due time, evaluating performance is very necessary. In this case HRM plays a vital role in any organization. PHP think there business will expand day by day as a result without HR department they cant maintain all formalities of employees. PHP apply modern technology with new method of HR system. Because they think that employees are their colleague not staff.

MS garment is a limited company who earned name & profit within a short time. It is a joined venture company of B category. It was started in 1993. At first they have started their work only with148

machine. They have started their production in April 1994 and export it in November 1994. JMS is the initials of three persons names. They are Jasion, Mahmud & Stephen. Since JMS is a garments business it is related to the buyers. Now buyers are very conscious about the supplies and management system of any garments. They also justify the behaviors of the employees and their working energy. So to maintain the stability of the garments & to please the buyers JMS follows some new ideas to motivate the employers as well as buyers. They also apply modern technology with new method of HR system.

In this report the works that have been carried out will be briefly discussed in this part. The part contains the analysis on the annual performance appraising system of the company. To do this work we had to study on perception, visited website, and in-depth interview. We also took help from our test books and also from the reference HRM test books. The purpose of this research is to find out the employee recruitment appointment, system, payment, bonus, allowance, of elimination, employee motivating, increment, evaluation

performance and so on so far. The strive for perfection and excellence for world Class Standards to produce and provide the best international quality products with the serious concern Towards preserving our beautiful Planet for our next generation by adopting technologies and processes that conserve the environment. Company Background :
PHP

Their main motto is serving the nation in silence. PHP started their business in 1989. At first they also started only trading business such as imported products sells in local market. Then it was a partnership business named RM corporation RM means Rokon & Mizan. But in 1996 they think their ethics are fully different in such cases. As a result without harassments they have separated & then Chairman of PHP group Mizanur Rahman Chy selected this organization name PHP. PHP means peace, happiness & prosperity. And they also started another business such as shipping, ship recycling, glass factory, steel, spinning mills, stock & security. At first stage their business system was fully traditional system. But when the directors of PHP joined their business every director are the son of Mizanur Rahman Chy they think now world is very changeable. So they started change in their every department & changed their HR department. One of the directors of PHP group named Akhter Parvez Chy think a good employee is very necessary for business besides a good strategic policy is very important for business. Because HR people recruit & selected employee, setting their work, evaluate their performance. In every business hireing in the right person for accurate job is very difficult. Without good employee the maintenance of big business is very impossible. When they started a good benefit for their employee & their employee trusted there director as a result their work volume will increase day by day. Now they think in the future

they will follow the better HR formula which is good for their business & also their employee. Their annual performance appraising system occurs in every Ramadan. Looking for self Reliance and Forex reserve buildup of Bangladesh by establishing Import Substitute and Export Oriented projects, with determination to play a dominant role in countrys economy through constantly exploring new areas are well as expansion, forward and backward integration of existing production facilities.

Mission Statement: To increase the number of employee & their target will be 50,000. Vision Statement: Peace, happiness & prosperity for community- A vision to see beyond future, the sprit to do what no one has thought before and the belief that sincerity, honesty and hard work supported with divine blessings and backed by good intensions can make miracles, to bring Peace, Happiness & Prosperity for Community.

HR Department:

Now HR department is very popular in every organization. And the demand of job is increasing day by day. In PHP now strictly follow the rules & regulation of HR department. Once upon a time it was very small in the organization. And then it was directed by there one of the director Md Anowar Chowdhury. But now PHP think now there organization has increased day by day so it is very difficult to maintain all strategy without HR department. As a result in the year of 2006 they started their HR department separately. At first they started only 5 or 6 person. But now this department converted a strong department & there total employee are 50. And they feel when there business will be increased then the number of HR executive will be increased definitely. They always try to apply a new invention of new formula & strategy in this section.

Executive From the chart, we define that the whole department directed by The Head of the department. He or she monitor the total work & classified the total work in different person such as manager, executive etc. The department head observe & order the authorized person. HR executive

also related to employee work such recruiting, hiring, increment increase, motivating, training, counseling, evaluating, justifying, searching people, suspend, information collection, justifying complain, punishment, facilities increased, reduct from company. The total department does different work such some executive related to only HR some are personal & some are HR compliance. The main work of the company: Creating a new strategy Applying a better formula To compare the multinational company Different strategy for different class 100% accurate evaluation To conscious the total employee

Annual Performance appraisal

As we mentioned before recruiting, hiring, training these things play a vital role in PHP & so annual appraisal is an integral part of PHP stock & security. They do the appraisal annually. Every year PHP stock & security does the performance appraisal based attendance of the employee, team work, behavior, over time punctuality senses of discipline initiative & leader ship, responsibility, team spirit, job knowledge.

Performance apprising period:


During June & July PHP stock & security does their performance appraisal every year.

Who does the appraisal?:


HR department delivers the performance report to managing director, manager and officers. Usually managing director of PHP stock & security does grading of general manager, Branch manager & CEO Manager does the grading of junior executive, assistant manager and officers. And officers do the grading of peon, guard, and sweeper.

Importance of performance appraisal:

It is really important because it inspires any individual to perform better. They can find out the performance appraisal. It helps employees to prove themselves. So once employees get to know that this particular company does annual appraisal every year thats why employee give his or her 100% to bring success.

Problems:
After appraisal when a senior officer comes to know that his or her salary increment is less than a new comer then there arises some heart burning. It happens sometime when a new comer perform better than a new comer.

Solution:
If a senior officer complains such type of problems to his or her immediate boss then he makes him to understand the reason of this demotion and advises him or her to perform well. Because promotion depends on the good performance.

Company Background:

JMS Their main objective is to export products on time to maintain the goodwill in the worlds garments market. JMS have started their business in 1993 with 148 machines & some workers. In 1994 they have started their production widely. In November 1994 they have started direct export in USA. And they have also started another unit gradually in 1997 with 220 machine & then other units in 2003, 2004 & 2005. They export cargo pants, cargo shirts, Kneats, shirt & pant. Polo shirt, Chaps pants for boys & also kids wardrobes are include. They also receive order from Wall-matt & so many large organizations of USA. They mainly export their products in USA (48%), Europe (54%) & Canada (3-5%). Their total employee is 3000 & total machine 1600.

At first stage their business system was not so advanced. But when they have entered into the competitive world, they have become changed. One of the partners of JMS Garments thinks good employee & best environment is very necessary for business. And a good strategic plan & reliable policy is very important for business. HR people recruit & select employees, setting their work, evaluate their performance. In every business hiring the right person for the right job is very difficult. Without good employee the maintenance of big business is very impossible. When they have incentives for them, the employees of JMS have become very energetic & begin to do their work properly. For this it results high productivity. So, for the well being of both the organization and the employee performance appraisal is necessary.

Mission Statement:

The main mission of JMS is to create their organization self sustained for the next generations. They want to maintain the organization

systematically for running the business with full speed. Again they for want their to create a good

Vision Statement:

Their vision is to be the best garments with the best price & quality in this sub-continent. They also want to serve the country with their earnings for 25 years more.

HR Department:
Today it would be difficult to imagine any organization achieving and sustaining effectiveness without efficient of HR department. It plays a major role in clarifying the firms human resource problems and develops solution to them. Like other organization JMS also has an effective HR department. It starts from the beginning of the organization. It is directed By the Saief Md. Mainul hasan. Now it is expanding day by day.

Training:

In JMS there are daily orientation program for the workers. It occurs after the working hour when necessary. Again there is counseling process for the both managers & employee. It is organized by HR department. HR department also invite some officers from BGME who give an orientation to the employees. Again sometimes they also invite some expert from abroad. They study the workers expectation & requirements from the organization and report it to the HR department. Through this continue counseling process HR manager can calculate the employees lacking & needs and can fulfill them.

Reward & Bonus:

If any employee or worker gives their best performance both in workplace & behavior he or she may achieve the bonus. They also can get 10% yearly increment due to

their good performance. Generally JMS pick at least 2oo workers at the end of the year to give this reward. Again if they can maintain their discipline & attendance they will receive 200 Tk. cash monthly. They can also get recognition on the dias in their annual function. JMS mention this day as JMS Day. In this day worker can enjoy as much as they want. It is like their refreshment as JMS want to do for their employees.

Promotion:
In JMS they promote their managers by calculating some scales. If they can maintain the range of scale

they will be promoted. They can also get 10% yearly increment with their salary.

Motivation:
Motivation is the part of training. The employees have become motivated through the orientation & counseling program. To motivate the workers more the management of JMS throws yearly a party, picnic etc.

Suggestion:
Our suggestion towards JMS Garments Ltd. areTrain the employees by organizing some workshop, seminar etc. They also can provide some good

incentives or allowance to the employees and give them proper recess.

Conclusion:
In this report we define most important & significant duties of HR department of PHP & JMS Garments Ltd. Both the organization are well-known & reputed organization. They know without evaluating any employee they can not feel their needs & demands. Performance appraisals are regular reviews of employee performance within organizations. So it is very important to do appraisal, at least to know the companys strength or weakness within the human resource.They feel HR is very necessary to build up there business. Without HR department a big organization cant run their business. Because recruiting a right person in the right job is very difficult. In this case HR department can select a right person for the right job. And management think without good facilities a company cant motivate there employees. In conclusion we can say that both PHP group & JMS garments Ltd. has applied the effective method to

appraise their employees. We wish them good luck for the future.
