JH 7 Types of Abnormalities

The document discusses abnormalities in manufacturing equipment and processes. It defines abnormalities as anything that is not normal or that deviates from standards or requirements. It provides examples of minor flaws, unfulfilled basic conditions, inaccessible places, and contamination sources. The examples show issues like dust accumulation, loose fittings, hard to access areas, and product spills that represent abnormalities. The document stresses the importance of identifying and addressing abnormalities to prevent defects, accidents, and equipment breakdowns.

Explanation of do’s & don’ts during JH

• Use PPE’s (personal protective equipment) while working, such as hand gloves, goggles, helmet etc.

• Lock the ladders, mobile platforms before climbing.

• Switch off the electrical supply before opening the pipes covers.

• Drain accumulator before removing hydraulic pipes, electric cabinet, electric cable covers.

• Shut off air supply valves.

• In case of doubt, ask the maintenance person for safety precautions.

• Do not use compressed air for cleaning.
