NARRATIVE REPORT

This chapter presents the weekly summary of experiences for the

entire teaching internship period.

WEEK 1 (April 4- 8, 2022)

First day of scheduled internship, We the student teachers went to

Llorente National High School, which serve as our cooperating school

for the whole internship to meet with the principal of the said school but

sadly he is on travel that time, hence, we have met Sir Tito Somooc

instead, the head teacher of the mathematics department. We

introduced ourselves to him and he discuss to us who will be our

cooperating teacher.

Sir Tito Somooc had introduced me to the Araling Panlipunan head

teacher, Ma’am Marieta Gamalo, then he assigned Ma’am Jenifer

Tambologan to be my cooperating teacher.

Ma’am Tambologan shared to me her scheduled every week and

she assigned me to the class that I’ll be handling, the Grade-10

students, section STE, Aquino, Bonifacio, Rizal, and Quezon. Later on I

observed Ma’am Tambologan on how she teaches her students and

what teaching method and strategies she is using. She as well

Page | 11
introduced me to all the five sections that I will be handling for the rest of

my teaching journey. Because Llorente National High School is still on a

limited face to face classes the whole week became a get-to-know stage

and adjustment period. I familiarized my scheduled as well as the

assigned room and of course my students. Hence, each class is divided

by two group, I got only to see them once a week for each group, Set A

for Monday scheduled and Set B for the Thursday scheduled.

April 5, 2022, Ma’am Catuday and Ma,am Cada had formally

indorsed us for the student internship in LNHS. The representative of the

College of Education and the cooperating school principal had a short

conference on the different conditions, policies and roles agreed by both

parties.

April 6, 2022, We met and had a meeting with the principal of

Llorente National High School, Sir Judy Operario. We introduce

ourselves to him and had a short meeting with him. He orients us and

gives us advices that we should just enjoy our teaching internship

journey. He is very thankful that for the first time ESSU-Main Campus

has assigned a practice teacher to Llorente National High School. He

says that his school will give its best to develop the skills of the student

teacher.

Page | 12
Wednesday afternoon, I facilitated the remedial class of Grade 10

Aquino. I give them short spelling activity and let them read an article

about Globalization. Afterwards, I let them answer three processing

questions about the article they read.

On Thursday, I administered the third quarter exam of the

students. I checked and inputted their scores on the class record.

Last day of the week, Ma’am Tambologan had given me my first

topic that I will going to discuss for the following weeks.

Page | 13
WEEK 2 (April 12-13, 2022)

Second week of my Teaching Internship journey. First day of the

week, classes got suspended because of the typhoon. On the second

day I attended the first “Himangraway 2022”, held at the covered court of

Llorente National High School. This activity is a school-based program

prepared by the school which gathered all the junior and high school

teachers. On the morning session, all the department head of each

subject and the heads of the administrative departments had presents

the updates and their accomplishments report from the month of January

to March. On the third day Ma’am Tambologan had given me the first

topic that I will be teaching to the Grade 10 students on the coming

week. I read the whole module and highlighted the important details and

information that I will be putting on my visual aid and I make lesson plan

on the topic “Konsepto at Katuturan ng Pagkamamamaya”. The

following days has no classes because it is a holy day which we

celebrate the Holy Thursday and Good Friday, instead of enjoying the

long weekend I utilized it to fixed and finalized my lesson plan. I

familiarized the flow and studied the content of the lesson. In conclusion,

my second week internship had ended shortly without so much hustle.

Page | 14
WEEK 3 (April 18-23, 2022)

Third week of my Teaching Internship journey. This week has

given me so much pressure and I felt anxious because I undergone my

first and ever teaching in the real classroom with a total of hundred plus

students in all section that I handled. First day of the week I observed

again the formal classes of Mrs. Tambologan and in the afternoon on

her vacant period I passed my made lesson plan for checking and to get

some expert advices and recommendation from her for further

improvements. On the second and third day of the week, I made my

instructional materials and my PowerPoint presentation.

April 21, 2022, Thursday, one of the big day of my teaching

internship journey, I undertake my first teaching in the real classroom

setting. Early in the morning, I felt uneasy that my first teaching will not

be successful, but I’m very thankful that it goes smoothly without

experiencing unexpected problem. My students were actively

participated during our discussion. They had easily grasp and

understand the lesson. Meanwhile, in the afternoon we had a short post

conference with Mrs. Tambologan, she commended my lesson plan and

the way I discussed and mastered the topic. She said and quoted that

“Your discussion was good and your instructional materials was

commendable, you did a good job”. After saying those lines, I felt so

Page | 15
much happiness inside. All the hardship and struggles are reciprocated

with a good result.

The fifth day of the week I used this day in making and writing my

second lesson plan for the next topic.

April 23, 2022, Saturday, I assessed Ma’am Daguinod in

administering the Portfolio day on her advisory class.

Page | 16
WEEK 4 (April 25-29, 2022)

Fourth week of my Teaching Internship journey. A new week

comes, new experiences and new memories to cherished. This week I

continued our last discussion last meeting about the “Konsepto at

Katuturan ng Pagkamamamayan”. We had an interactive discussion with

my student. I experienced an overwhelming joy because I see my

students that they are very interested with the topic. They really thrived

to learn. They are very happy when they received a recitation token,

which I give to them every time they recite on the class.

Same week, I revised my second lesson plan for the next topic in

the following week and I give it to Mrs. Tambologan for checking and

asking her for some advices and recommendations.

Though it was a tiring week it was nothing compared to the

fulfillment I felt. In spite of experiencing challenges and difficulties in

dealing with the hundred plus students with different background,

diverse personalities, behaviors and attitudes still I felt elated in teaching

them, sharing to them my knowledge and enlightening them with the

concept they needed to learn.

Page | 17
WEEK 5 (May 16-20, 2022)

Fifth week of Teaching Internship Journey. I describe this week as

busy and challenging week. First day of the week I introduced and

discussed a new topic about “Karapatang Pantao” to the five different

sections (Grade-10 STE, Aquino, Bonifacio, Rizal and Quezon). It was

very tiring knowing that I handled five different sections every Monday

and Thursday having a minimum number of 45 students each section

divided by two group.

Tuesday and Wednesday, in this week is I allotted this day for

preparing for my pre-demo. Finalizing and working on my instructional

materials and everything that needed to accomplish.

Thursday, on the same week, I met the Set B Grade 10 students

and discussed to them the new topic as well. We had a lively discussion

about the topic. Everyone was eager to learn the lesson and showing

interest in class. They actively participate every time I ask them

questions. The one hour allotted time for every section was being used

and ended productively.

Last day of the week, I work again in my instructional materials,

PowerPoints presentation, reviewing my lesson plan and all for my pre-

demo.

Page | 18
WEEK 6 (May 3-6, 2022)

Classes are suspended due to election matters. I used this week in

making my lesson plan for the third topic.

WEEK 7 (May 9-13)

Classes are suspended due to election matters. I allotted this week

in polishing my instructional materials and everything that is needed for

my pre-demo.

Page | 19
WEEK 8 (May 23-27, 2022)

Eight week of my Teaching Internship Journey. May 23, 2022,

Monday, I undergone my pre-demo. It was a frightful day for me. My

hands were shaking because of the nervousness. It was very

challenging one because this is also the day where Llorente National

High School started the regular classes where all students are being

mandated to come to school every day dismissing the clustered system,

(dividing the whole class in to two for the reason of ensuring their safety

and for assuring that the school are following the health protocols). It

was toilsome because I catered a big numbers of students and provide

varied teaching strategies and techniques to catch the interest of the

students and to display flexibility in dealing with their diverse

personalities and behaviors. Nevertheless, my pre-demo had been

successful in spite of all the turmoil I experienced. It was not perfect but I

know I did a great job.

The following days I discussed the third topic for the fourth quarter.

The lesson was about “Gawaing Pansibiko”.

Thursday afternoon, we had our post conference for the concluded

pre-demo. I was very anxious that I might receive lots of negative

comments from the evaluators but it was not. They commended me for a

job well-done. They give me some suggestion and recommendation on

Page | 20
how I will improve my teaching. After the conference I felt unparalleled

happiness know that they appreciated and acknowledge all the effort I

put on the pre-demo.

Page | 21
WEEK 9 (May 30- June 3, 2022)

Ninth week of my Teaching Internship Journey. This is the week

that I undergone my final demo. It was nerve wracking week where I felt

some mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness.

Monday, I discussed the last topic for the fourth quarter about

“Mabuting Pamamahala” and I informed my student for the coming pre-

final exam. It was very exhausting and backbreaking day for teaching

five hours a day.

Tuesday and Wednesday, I allocated these days to polish my

lesson plan and all my instructional materials for my final demo.

June 2, 2022, Thursday, the day where I undergone my final

demo. 1:00 PM was the scheduled for my final demo but it was

unexpectedly rescheduled to 11:45 in the morning. I felt uneasy knowing

that it was an hour early before my assigned scheduled. It became more

dreadful, terrifying and I doubted myself that I can’t do the best.

Nevertheless, I am very thankful to God that it became successful. All

the effort has been reciprocated with a good result and I overcome one

of the most difficult part of my teaching internship journey.

Thursday afternoon we instantly proceed to the post conference

right after the last demonstrator. Ma’am Rowena Catuday facilitated the

Page | 22
conference. She extends her appreciation in behalf of College of

Education Department to all the cooperating teacher and to the Llorente

National High School. She gives the student teachers time divulge their

heartfelt messages to their respective CT and she also give time for the

cooperating teacher to hear their message to the student teachers as

well. Later part was the giving of comments and recommendation for

improvement. In general, all the evaluators have given the student

teachers a positive comment, feedbacks and saying that we all did a

great job.

Page | 23
WEEK 10 (June 6-10, 2022)

Tenth week of my Teaching Internship journey. I asked

permission from my cooperating teacher and to the principal to process

and submit my application for graduation and other requirements to the

registrar office of ESSU-Main campus. Meanwhile, Mrs. Tambologan

has the one who administered the pre-final exam to the students.

Second day of the week, I checked the exam of my students and I

inputted their score in the class record.

Third day of the week, I entered my class and we did a graded

recitation.

Fourth day of the week, I, together with other student teachers

helped in decorating and preparing for the LNHS Alumni 2022.

Last day of the week, has no classes to give way for the

celebration of Alumni. We participated on the event and helped the

alumni officers in collecting the “gala” for the search of Alumni King and

Queen.

Page | 24
WEEK 11 (June 13-17, 2022)

Eleventh week of my Teaching Internship journey. Monday

has no classes because we celebrated the town fiesta. On the following

days I administered the final exam of my students. I checked their

papers and inputted it on the class record.

Friday morning, I give the certificate of appreciation to my

cooperation teacher and together my co-student teacher we send also

the certificate of appreciation to the principal of our cooperating school.

Meanwhile, this week served as my last week writing my narrative

report. I tried to reminisce all the good and bad memories and

experiences in staying in LNHS. Those sleepless nights studying and

conceptualizing the lessons, backbreaking days teaching my hundred

plus students, those nerve wracking moments during my pre and final

demo. I can’t believe that I conquered and accomplished them all.

In summarizing my teaching internship journey, I must say it was

very memorable and meaningful to me. Those hardships and struggles

had been paid off by good result. The Student Teaching Program had

help me grow and learned new things in life. It had benefited me on

developing the necessary skills and knowledge on becoming an effective

teacher.

Page | 25
All valuable insights gained from my teaching internship journey I

will apply and practice them in my classroom and to my student in when

I became a licensed teacher in the future.

I want to end this narrative report thanking all the people behind

the success of my teaching internship journey. I appreciated their

undying, unconditional love, unending support, unselfish assistance,

guidance, words of encouragement and motivation. I owe them all a debt

of gratitude beyond measures, especially to my cooperating teacher, my
