This subject, “Understanding Culture, Society and Politics”, intends to introduce
students to the major concepts in anthropology, political science and sociology. It’s designed to intensify students’ awareness of cultural, social and political dynamics, and sensitivity to cultural diversity; provide better understanding of how culture, human agency, society and politics work; and engage them in the examination of the country’s current human development goals.
It is important to the people in the society especially to the students to attain the knowledgeable ideas about human cultures, human agency, society and politics. Also, it recognizes the cultural relativism and social inclusiveness to overcome prejudices and develop social and cultural competence to guide their interactions with groups, communities, networks, and institutions.
Expectation on this subject is a challenging and full of excitement because we
will be going to discuss and talk about the different culture and diversity of each individual at the same time talk about the politics within the country. We as a student we can understand the society itself and how we are going to act as a member of the society and what are the things that we need to do as a help or a contribution into our society.
