Note: bring your student ID card to the exam venue for verification purposes
and all phones will have to be switched off during the exam as such you have to
bring along a non-programmable calculator for calculation purposes (no
borrowings will be allowed while the exam will be in progress).

 Q2 - Corporate Savings (Topic 2)
 Q3– GDP (Topic 2)

 Q4 – Q6 –Interest rate determination (Topic 3)
 Q7 – currency conversion (Topic 2)
 Q8 - simple interest – single sum (Topic 4)
 Q9 - Compound interest – single sum (Topic 4)
 Q10 - effective annual rate – single sum (Topic 4)
(note: no annuities or unequal sum is tested here)

Note: the best tool for revision is your lecture notes and your tutorials
(Formula sheet will be provided during the exam; a copy is provided below for your reference)

FORMULAS

1. Personal Saving = Personal Income – Personal Current Taxes – Personal Outlays

2. Savings Rate = (Personal Savings)/ (Disposable Personal Income)

3. Undistributed profits = Profits before taxes - tax liabilities - dividends

4. Retention Rate = (Undistributed Profits)/ (Profits After Taxes)

5. Gross Domestic Product: GDP = PCE + GE + GPDI + NE

6. Risk Free Rate of Interest: RF = RR + IP

7. Nominal Interest Rate: r = RR + IP + DRP + MRP + LP

8. Simple Interest Rate FV = PV x [1 + (i x n) PV = FV/[1+ (i x n)

9. Compound Interest Rate FV = PV (1 + r)n PV = FV / (1 +r)n

10. APR = r x n; EAR= (1 + r)n – 1
