EUREKA MODEL Preparation Incubation Illumination Verification

There are 5 problem solving models described: 1. The Ask Experts Model which involves identifying issues, possible solutions, gathering data, consulting experts, and choosing the best solution. 2. The Eureka Model with stages of preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification requiring in-depth knowledge and analytical skills. 3. The Seven Steps Model involving identifying problems, analyzing them, researching possible solutions, evaluating options, selecting the best solution, implementing it, and evaluating outcomes. 4. The Creative Approach Model of identifying goals, gathering data, clarifying problems, generating ideas, developing solutions, and planning action. 5. The GROW Model focusing on setting goals, understanding realities and challenges, and determining ways

5 problem solving model

What is a problem? - find the root cause of the problem

What is problem solving? - A process using mind to consider something carefully
Types of problems 1. Routine: sepanjang waktu, sepanjang masa, bermusim
(cth: isu late to work)
2. Non routine =rare to happened (covid issue, people
problem)
3. Wicked: how to trace those infected virus = mysejahtera
4. Vicious=it may be routine but give negative impact to
organization
5. Complex =
6. Moral dilemma =
7. Unfamiliar = rarely happened,
8. Urgent= how to stop a man from bleeding
9. Critical=
10. Persistent = HR issues (mental health workers)
5 problem solving model 1. ASK EXPERTS MODEL
- Identify issue (root cause of problem)  list down all the
possible solution sets of data (justification) to identify
cause of problems  ask the expert about the solutions
 choose and implement the best solution
2. EUREKA MODEL preparation incubation  illumination
 verification
- In-depth knowledge about the problems critical and
analytical skills
3. SEVEN STEPS MODEL
- Identification of problems  analyze the problem (start
asking question 5W1H, open ended questions)  identify
possible solution (do research)  evaluate (present to
the boss)  select best solution  implement the
solution  evaluate the solution
4. CREATIVE APPROACH MODEL
Identify goals  gather data  clarify problem 
generate ideas develop solution  plan for action
5. GROW MODEL
Goal/objective (quantifiable, achieve the outcome) 
reality (gap between the goal)  obstacle/challenges
(boses /people related problem)  way forward
(melaksanakan option yg kita dah proposed)
reasoning Rational reasoning:
- Takes time to analysis
- Logical
- No context specific
Intuitive reasoning:
- Allows immediate action
- Based on experience
- Context specific (immediate responds to act
immediately)
