II. Rationale
National Book Week Celebration aims to highlight and celebrate the importance of
information literacy despite the new normal environment that we are still facing these days.
And so, the English Area of the High School Unit would like to revive a long-standing
activity which is called FAVEBOOK SELFIE, a 2014 activity of the said area which is apt
in our setup as the online platform holds a major factor in the teaching-learning process at
the moment. This activity/campaign will encourage students and teachers to flood our
newsfeed with worth-reading books that will go beyond the boundaries of a physical library.
Thru this activity, the sponsored area hopes to pique interest that will further augment the
genuine love for reading & literacy.
In line with these, the English Area will celebrate the 87th National Book Week
fastened to the ideals of SAA vision and mission.
III. Objectives
The observance of the 87th National Book Week aims to:
1. Instill in the young learners the genuine love for books and reading;
2. Encourage the students to appreciate the use of reading resources;
3. Develop among the students and teachers essential reading and literacy skills; and
4. Inculcate good reading habits and attitudes.

VI. Mechanics:
1. The launching of this campaign will be done online through a video presentation.
(We’ll tie up with The Agnesian FB Page for the promotion of the activity.)
2. The campaign is open to all the faculty and students of St. Agnes Academy who
are willing to share online their most loved books that might interest others to read
them as well.
3. The participants, both the faculty and the students, will upload their selfies together
with their favorite books with a caption that will be provided by the English Area.
4. To regulate the kind of photos to be shown online, the checking of photos will be
done by their respective English Teachers.
5. The checking of the students’ selfies by the English Teachers will be done after the
launching which will be on November 22, 2021 (Monday). The students will submit
their selfies to their respective teachers for screening so that photos which are apt
will only be showcased. They also need to secure a parental consent to be
submitted to their respective teachers.
6. Once the photos are approved by their teachers, the students can already upload
their selfies on Facebook on the date specified and join the campaign by tagging
some Agnesian friends to do the same. (Tagging is optional)
7. When uploading the selfies, the joiners will simply add the caption and they need
also to include their favorite line from the book which struck them the most.
8. The start of uploading on Facebook will be on November 24, 2021. It will last for a
couple of days until November 30, 2021.

Howdy everyone! Did you know that the period from November 24-30 is designated
as the National Book Week (NBW)? You read it right!
In light of this, I am one with the English Area of the High School Unit in celebrating
the 87th National Book Week for this year 2021. And as a member of the Agnesian
Community, I am here to support this endeavor as the #EnglishArea launches its
campaign/challenge dubbed as FAVEBOOK SELFIE. This campaign will showcase here
on Facebook worth-reading books that you might as well get interested in. Reading books
takes people to places and puts them in various situations that affect themselves in one
way or another. Oh well, books in the libraries are beyond boundaries! So, enjoy life by
reading a good book. Here’s my #FaveBookSefie that I wanna flex to all of you. You may
