Instructions:

ˆ The solutions must be in the order as listed, that is, Q1, Q2, Q3, ..., Q25. You can
temporarily leave a blank for a question without a solution (and can go back to resolve
it later).

ˆ As you knew, the Midterm exam is in-person (offline). The submissions for HW Assign-
ment 2 are in papers (offline). Submissions in papers will help us in reading your solutions
effectively. Please submit your solution in my mailbox named “Nguyen Minh
Quan” in front of O2. 610 by 4 PM, April 9, 2022.

1. Differentiate the following functions

2. For the function t whose graph is given, arrange the following numbers in increasing order

3. A roast turkey is taken from an oven when its temperature has reached 185o F and is
placed on a table in a room where the temperature is 75o F. The graph shows how the
temperature of the turkey decreases and eventually approaches room temperature. By
measuring the slope of the tangent, estimate the rate of change of the temperature after
an hour

4. A ball is thrown vertically upward with a initial velocity 80 ft/s (feet/second), then its

origin and travels in an easterly direction. There is a statue located 100 m east and 50
m north of the origin. At what point on the highway will the car’s headlights illuminate
the statue?
