INTRODUCTION
FORD AOD-E \ 4R70W
The AOD-E \ 4R70W transmission is a four speeds, rear wheel drive
automatic overdrive transmission which is computer controlled. This unit
has a cover clutch; In its general appearance it resembles the hydraulic
controlled AOD transmission. This Unit has two different shafts at the front
where as the AOD has three this, will be a quick way to identify the units.

This manual gives the electrical diagnosing methods for this unit. You will
notice that there are several pieces of diagnosing equipment that will be
necessary for quick accurate diagnosing. The teardown and assembly is
covered on this manual
