OWNER : MR. ROBERTO A. ARBOLONIO
SUBJECT : ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST AND STRUCTURAL SPECIFICATION
‘1. SITE WORK
A. WORK INCLUDED 1. Staking and building establishment of lines, grades and benchmark. 2. All excavation work including all necessary shoring, bracing and drainage of storm water from the site. 3. All backfilling and grading, removal of excess material from site. 11. CONCRETE WORKS A. AGGREGATES: 1. COARSE AGGREGATES. The maximum size of coarse aggregates for columns and footings shall be (1”) 25mm washed gravel and free from deleterious substances such as straws of grass, mud etc. The maximum size of aggregates for slab, beams and girders shall be (3/4”) 20mm washed or crushed gravel. 2. FINE AGGREGATES. It shall consist of washed natural sand, stone screenings or inner materials with similar characteristics, or combination thereof, having hard, strong and durable particles approved by the engineer. It shall not contain more than three mass percent of material passing the 0.075mm (No. 200 sieve) by washing nor more than one percent each of clay lumps or shale. The use of beach sand will not be allowed without the approval of the engineer. 111. MASONRY WORKS. 1. Concrete Hollow Blocks. Concrete Hollow Block units for walls and partitions shall conform with the latest requirement of ASTM C129. They shall be modular non-load bearing with nominal size 10cm x 20cm x 40cm (4” x 8” x 16”) for exterior walls and partition walls. All Concrete hollow blocks shall have a minimum compressive strength of not less than 25 kg/ sq.cm. 2. Mortar Mixture. Portland cement mortar for laying concrete hollow blocks shall consists of one Portland cement and three parts clean coarse sand by volume. Only sufficient water to make a workable mixture will be permitted. ‘1. Reinforcement. Unless otherwise indicated on the drawings, vertical reinforcements shall be 10mm dia. At 40cm O. C. for 10 cm blocks to serve as vertical reinforced studs for the hollow blocks wall. Hollow block horizontal reinforcement shall be 10mm dia. At every two layers. All vertical and horizontal CHB wall reinforcements shall be anchored to concrete works by means of a 10mm dia. At 40cm dowel. 111. REINFORCING STEEL. A. GENERAL. Unless otherwise specified by the engineer on the drawing, all steel reinforcements shall be structural grade (230MPa), new billet stock conforming to ASTM Designation: A305. All steel reinforcements if furnished by the contractor shall be covered by Mill Test of the Manufacturer. The mill tests showing the results of all chemical and physical tests made are required by the specifications and must be certified as correct by an official authorized to bind the manufacturer. All reinforcing steel bars shall be stacked a manner that it will be free from excessive exposure to rust causing elements such as rain, brackish water and other deleterious substances such as mud and others. 1V. STEEL WORKS. ‘A. STRUCTURAL STEEL Roof framing shall be primarily structural steel frame. Steel shapes and plates should have minimum yield strength of 248 MPa. Light gauge sections will have minimum yield strength of 245 MPa. ‘B. SIZE OF WELDS Weld size is determined by the thicker of the two parts joined, except that the weld size need not exceed the thickness of the thinner part joined unless a large size is required by calculated stress. For this exceptions particular care shall be taken to provide sufficient pre heat for soundness of the weld. ‘V. FINISHING ‘1. Concrete surface shall be plastered plain cement finish and unless otherwise indicated. ‘2. Concrete slab on fill – the concrete slab on fill with the thickness equal to the thickness of overlaying slab except as indicated otherwise it shall reinforced with minimum steel reinforcement equivalent to 0.18 percent of the concrete section. ‘V1. CARPENTRY AND JOINERY WORKS. ‘A. MATERIALS. ‘1. Quality of lumber. Lumber shall be the approved quality of the respective kinds for various parts of the work, well seasoned, thoroughly dry and free from large large, loose or unsound knots, saps, snakes and other imperfections impairing its strength, durability or appearance. All finishing lumber to be used shall be completely dried and shall not contain more than 14% moisture. ‘2. Secure work to grounds, otherwise fasten to position to hold correct surfaces, lines and levels. Make finished work flat, plumb, true. ‘V11. ARCHITECTURAL FINISHES SCHEDULE. ‘A. FLOORING. ‘1. Interior floor finish shall be smooth cast plaster concrete. ‘B. WALLING. ‘1. Exterior and exterior walling shall be 10cm x 20cm x 40cm concrete hollow block from natural ground line to bottom of beam, plastered of lain cement and painted. ‘C. DOORS. ‘1. Main door shall be panel typed door. ‘D. WINDOWS. ‘1. All windows shall be welded 10mm RSB Grills. V111. ROOFING WORKS. ‘A. MATERIALS. ‘1. Roofing sheets shall be o.4mm thick.
