purely contractual basis for "Medical College Level Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratories"
in the Department of Microbiology:-

ADVERTISEMENT FOR VARIOUS POSTS ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS
FOR ONE YEAR IN MEDICAL COLLEGE LEVEL VRDL, UPUMS, SAIFAI (UP)
Applications are invited for filling up of following posts under the Medical College Level Viral Research
and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Department of Microbiology, UPUMS, Saifai, Etawah (UP) for one
year purely on a contractual basis as per the below-mentioned details:-

Nature of Employment: Contractual
Duration of Employment: One Year (12 Months) extendable upto five years, depending on the candidate’s
performance and satisfactory recommendation of Nodal officer & HOD and budget grant from the
funding agency.
ESSENTIAL, DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION AND JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Position: Scientist B (Medical)
Essential qualification:
MBBS / BDS / B.V.Sc. & AH recognized by MCI / DCI / VCI respectively.
Or
BDS / B.V.Sc degree with one year experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
i. MD in the related subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree.
ii. Additional Post-doctoral research/training experience in relevant subjects in relevant subjects in
recognized institute(s).
ii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management.
iii. Two years R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
NOTES:
i. MD or M. V. Sc degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years experience
respectively.
ii. Candidates with MD / MDS / M. V. Sc degree will be preferred for engagement.
Position: Scientist B (Non-Medical)
Essential qualification:
BE / B. Tech degree in relevant engineering subject with 2 years experience or equivalent degree from a
recognized university.
Or
1st class Master’s degree in relevant subject from a recognized university
Or
2nd class M. Sc. + Ph. D degree in relevant subject from a recognized university.
Desirable Qualifications:
i. Doctorate or M. Tech Degree in relevant subject or engineering subject from a recognized university for
candidates with first class relevant degree.
ii. Additional Post doctoral research / training experience in relevant subjects in relevant subjects in
recognized institute(s).
iii. Knowledge of Computer Applications or Business Intelligence tools / Data Management.
iv. Two years R&D / Teaching experience in relevant subject after obtaining essential qualification.
NOTES:
i. PhD degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to three years experience.
ii. Candidates with PhD or M. Tech degree will be preferred for engagement.
Position: Research Assistant
Essential qualification:
M.Sc. (Medical Microbiology/ Virology/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Life
Sciences) from recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications:
M.Sc. Virology/Microbiology/Biotechnology
Work experience in diagnostic laboratory/Cell Culture/ELISA/PCR
Knowledge of computer application/reporting preparation.
Position: Laboratory Technician
Essential qualification:
B. Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institute with 01 year experience.
or
Intermediate (10+2) with Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with 03 years experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. M. Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institute.
2. The candidate having experience in Govt. Institution in ICMR/DHR/IDSP/CSIR/DBT/any
other project/Medical College.
3. Knowledge of computer application/ Data management.
Position: Data Entry Operator
Essential qualification:
1. Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of data entry work.
Desirable:
1. Post Graduate Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
2. DOEACC-‘O’/PGDCA/ Diploma in Computer Applications/Course on Computer Concepts
(CCC) certificate.
3. Data Entry Speed of not less than 8000 Key Depressions per hour(Certificate Compulsory)
Position: Multi-Tasking Staff
Essential qualification:
1. High School/Metric/equivalent from a recognized board.
Desirable:
1. Intermediate with Sciences Stream.
2. 01 year work experience in ICMR/DHR recognized diagnostic Lab. The candidate must be
aware of minimum bio-safety precautions following in the virology lab.
3. Must be capable of driving two wheeler.
Terms and Conditions:-
1. The above- mentioned vacancies are for a fixed tenure of one year (12 months) or till continuation of
funding by DHR, Govt. of India.
2. The selection should not be deemed as employment at UPUMS, Saifai. Employment will
automatically terminate on completion of the 1 year (12 months) from the day of joining of duties
and there is no liability for permanent employment on UPUMS, Saifai, or Principal Investigator.
Also, the candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Interested candidates may appear for walk-in
interview. Candidates should bring duly filled application form(As per the prescribed Performa) and
all original certificates of educational qualifications, copies of research publications and experience
certificate, identity proof, along with two photographs and a set of self-attested photocopies of all
certificates and relevant documents at the time of interview.
4. Vice Chancellor, UPUMS, Saifai reserves the right to terminate from the job anytime if performance
is not up to expectations or some negative remarks of PI. If the candidate wants to resign, a notice
period of 30 days is a must.
Candidates have to download the application form from the UPUMS, Saifai website and submit the same
filled up completely accompanied by a self -attested Xerox copy of the certificates and documents. The

The application envelope (super-scribed)/email subject matter should be as –

It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to track the application and the UPUMS is not responsible for

The candidate needs to submit the application as per the format. No change in serial no. order and the
heading of the column to be made. Annexures may be added as separate sheets if required.
The application in the said format is to be properly typed and signed.
Two recent self- signed passport sized colour photographs are to be attached with stapled/pinned on the
first page of the proforma format.
One set of self- attested xerox copies of all relevant certificates, the first page of all scientific publications
(Only PUBMED indexed), and experiences if any must be attached with the application form.
Selection procedure
The applications received will be scrutinized by the selection committee. Recruitments will be made
through Interviews and a written test will be conducted if felt necessary by the selection committee.
Selection is based purely on a merit basis.
The list of candidates found eligible will be intimated as per the recruitment policy (for contractual posts)
of UPUMS, Saifai.
