1.1 Check for the General check list points of P&ID as per Check list no : INS CHK LIST - 001
2.0 TECHNICAL CHECKPOINTS
2.1 Check FD fan suction is shown with silencer and bird screen
2.2 Check the No of fans and percentage capacity offered with boiler PO & MTD
2.3 Check for the Square root extraction for Flow Transmitter is mentioned in P&ID with FT Symbol
2.4 Check for Air pre heater Bypass is provided with Manual / Motorized operated damper with MTD & boiler PO
2.5 Check scope symbol for ESP.
2.6 Check for the ID,FD & PA fan motors shown with its symbolic form along with different tag.no.
For 1 x 100% Fans. ID Suction damper shall be multilouver control, FD and PA Inlet Guide Vane (IGV) control and for all fans

discharge no damper
2.8 For 2 x 100% and 2 x 60% Fans. ID Suction damper shall be multilouver control, FD and PA Suction IGV and discharge solenoid
operated tight shut off damper. For 2 x 60% case discharge damper shall be anti reverse rotation type to be provided.
Check for provision of guillotine dampers if committed to customer (possible when there are two ID fan or 2 boiler

2.10 Check the Number Motorised damper furnised as per P.O
2.11 Check the arrangement of Eco and APH with reference to GA
2.12 Check whether manual slide gates are provided at bottom of all hoppers including emergency by-pass chute (same will be in B&H
scope)
2.13 Check the boiler furnance is Hopper bottom or Flat bed design.
2.14 Correlate the no of fuel feeding lines and air lines to each compartment and cross check with GA
2.15 Check the provision for bed material feed arrangement is shown in P&ID
2.16 Check the Pneumatic damper consists of Tag no,Air supply, SOV, Open,Close command from DCS Symbol & open,close limits from
field which in turn is taken for the DCS should contain its symbolic form.
2.17 PA fan air individual compartment isolation is provided with Solenoid operated damper
2.18 For fluidising air duct to individual compartments, damper in startup compartment (first compartment) to be of regulating type with
position transmitter and other compartments will be of on-off type.
Check Fuel feeding system i.e under bed or over bed or combination feeding is indicated in P&ID. In case of coal firing, for overbed

feeding system check if mechanical spreaders are provided. In case of biomass firing, check if pneumatic spreders are provided.
2.20 Check the Bed ash / material drain nozzle isolation valve (two per outlet one pneumatic and one manual). Bed ash drain point min.
one per compartment / hopper.
2.21 Check the Bed compartment temperature elements indicates interlocking in DCS specify the RUN BACK & RUN DOWN
nomenclatures & contain its symbolic form.
2.22 Check manual isolation damper for individual fuel feed line is provided (upstream of mixing nozzle)
2.23 Check secondary air headers are isolated by manual dampers
2.24 Check the no. of bunkers, bunker volume and bunker configuration.
2.25 Check the no. of SH sections shown w.r to GAD and Steam and water P&ID
2.26 Check the elevation of ash hoppers bottom level at all locations. (2.5m / 3.0 m)
2.27 Check whether RAV is provided in bank hopper and same is interconnected with economiser ash hopper
2.28 Check offered boiler is single drum or bi-drum and check the same arrangment in shown in Boiler bank section
2.29 Check if limestone bunker is provided in case of Petcoke firing.
2.30 Check the no. of ash coolers provided for each compartment.
2.31 In case of Bed Ash Cooler (BAC), check if the hot air from BAC is connected to APH hopper.
2.32 If Bed ash cooler provided then air tapping from FD fan outlet shall be taken
In case of BAC, BAC inlet and outlet ash pipes should be provided with solenoid operated KGEVs and air pipes has to be provided

2.34 In case of biomass feeding, check the type of extractors(i.e twin drum) and feeders(screw or ram) provided.
2.35 For biomass firing cases, Over Fire Air (OFA) should be given in two levels. Check if the same is represented.
2.36 Check if airline to pneumatic spreaders is taken from FD line (for biomass)

Check for the Instrument air pressure switch and gauge shown in this drawing which in turn is taken to DCS along with alarm.
2.39 Check the following minimum TE are shown in the P&ID
a Check the TE of flue gas temp in ESP Inlet
b Check the TE of flue gas temp in ESP outlet
c Check the TE of FD fan Air temp at APH-II outlet
d Check the TE of Bed Compartment (min 2 No's per compartment)
e Check the TE of Furnace Temperature
f Check the TE of Flue Gas Temp at SSH Outlet
g Check the TE of Flue Gas Temp after Boiler Bank
h Check the TE of Flue Gas Temp at Eco Outlet

2.47 Check the following minimum Power Cylinders along with its associated I/O's are shown in the P&ID
a Check the Regulating Power Cylinder of ID FAN SUCTION DAMPER ACTUATOR
b Check the Regulating Power Cylinder of FD FAN SUCTION DAMPER ACTUATOR
c Check the Regulating Power Cylinder of PA FAN SUCTION DAMPER ACTUATOR
d Check the Regulating Power Cylinder of FD AIR FROM FD FAN TO COMPARTMENT-1 PIPE-1
e Check the Damper actuator of PA FAN DISCHARGE DAMPER
f Check the Damper actuator of PA FAN DISCHARGE HEADERS (As per the compartment count - 1 no per comparment)
g Check the Damper actuator of HOT AIR FROM APH TO FD FAN COMPARTMENTS except 1st compartment
h Check the Damper actuator (KGV) of Bed compartment hoppers as per the actual numbers.
Check the number of bed Drain KGV's with respect to number of the hoppers.Confirm whether 1 No hopper per compartment or 2
i No's Hoppers per compartment with respect to GA drawing.Based on the hopper count, number KGV's vary i.e 2 KGV's per hopper
drain.
j Check the no. of oil burners, tank, pump, control skid and related accessories shown.(if applicable)
