Laboratory Exercise No. 1:

INSPECTION OF MATERIAL TESTING LABORATORY


IDENTIFICATION OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS

Objective:

To let the student become acquainted with material testing laboratory, the equipment ,
and course requirement.

Preparatory Reading: Material Testing Laboratory Equipment

Procedure:

1. Browse in the Internet about equipment used in Testing Engineering Materials


2. Make a list of the major types of equipment.

Report:

Write an informal report that includes:

1. A brief description of each major testing machine. This should include appropriate factor
necessary to convert from the calibration units to SI units.
2. An assessment on the role of the course in your education.
3. Draw the floor plan of a testing laboratory indicating the probable location of the
equipment.
4. Provide pictures of the different equipment with corresponding label and label of parts if
available.
5. Draw manually at least two (2) material testing equipment with label of its parts.
