Part 1
I live in the suburbs of HCM city. It is newly devoloped area but there are no
industrial zone and no block apartment. So it is a peaceful place
+ The thing which I like the most is that there is a small park opposite. So I
regularly go out there play with kids in the neighhorbood. Moreover it also help
the front of my house gotten some fresh air
+ On a whole I am quite satisfied from my neighborhood but there is no hospital
and school near my house. This has caused great distress to not only me but also
to the other residents of the area. The children must go to school very far. Those
who need regular care are inconvenient. I think that there should be a hospital
and school in my neighborhood
Part 2
In my opinion, neighbours are very important because they are some of the
people that you are around every day. In Vietnam have the old saying: “Better a
neighbor near than a brother far off”. If you ever have a problem you may need
to ask a neighbour for help, since they are right nearby
SET 2
Part 1:
For now, I’m living in an apartment with my family. It is right in the heart of
the city with a lot of hustle and bustle. At night the streets are crowded with
people from all over the city. It’s not very spacious but there is enough room for
me to study. However, this is not my dream house.
To be honest, the location and the surroundings of my dream house is very
important. I’ve always been fascinated by mountains and the clean cool air. I’d
feel positive and lively to wake up looking outside at the windows and there is a
magnificent range of mountains and they chilling atmosphere. In this respect, I
imagine my dream house to be located somewhere high, far away from the city
crowd and pollutions.
To describe my house regarding the design, I want it to be as simple as possible.
I’m not into a fancy and modern type of architecture, something simple and
functional should just be perfect. It would be a Cottage with one bedroom, a
living room, and a bathroom. The living room should be the biggest one, it’s
where all of my entertainment activities alone or with my family take place.
There will also be trees and plants decorated around the house.
Part 2:
In my opinion, I would like to live in the city
- Modernization in the city will be much faster and easier than in the
country
- Living in the city give us a lot of to earn money
- We will approach the developing science and high technology
- Living in the city helps people have more opportunities to take good
education as well as do research science
- More chances to get well-paying jobs and providing our family with a
comfortable life

A few months ago, I went to the Centrial of Vietnam for a vacation with my
family. It’s was to the lovely coastal city of Da Nang, which is also a very
famous tourist destination. We decided to go there by plane and it took us 1
hour
It took about an hour to fly there, and luckily, the flight took off on time. The
trip began with an incredible view from the airplane window and I can still
remember being quite overwhelmed by the beauty of my city from above and
the amazing sunset.
The time we spent in Nha Trang was a blast. We got to try out so many new
things such as skydiving, surfing, and diving to see the coral reef. This place has
one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam with deep blue water and pearly-
white sand. Also, the food there was so unique and delicious. I think the most
memorable moment of that trip though was definitely when we bought fresh
ingredients from a local market and grilled them by the beach.
The trip to Da Nang really was the holiday of a lifetime. We had a lot of fun and
got to see a lot of spectacular scenery. We definitely enjoyed it and we will
definitely go there again if we have a chance.

Part 1
I want to talk about the time I was preparing for the university entrance exam,
which until now is still the most important stage of my life. It actually happened
2 years ago, but the feeling was so intense that everything is still fresh in my
memory.
As you know, in Vietnam, the university entrance exam has always been
considered the most important examination in anybody’s life, and mine was no
exception. In my time, all students were required to sit for an exam that covered
the knowledge of 3 full years in high school. It was too much for anyone to
handle; the amount of things to learn was so enormous that I remembered
having to pull all-nighters almost every day. Of course, the competition was
fierce, I mean you wouldn’t be admitted into the top schools unless your score
were really high.
In hindsight, it was not an enjoyable time, but definitely a precious memory to
me. It was the first time I was ever involved in something that had such a huge
impact on my life. Through this, I had an opportunity to have a closer look at
my career orientation as well as my ability. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to
say that I became an adult after this. That’s all I want to share about this topic.

Part 1
I consider myself a technophile, so it’s hard for me to live a day without using
technological devices, especially my smartphone.
It was a present from my parents to congratulate me on my high school
graduation four years ago, and it has come in handy ever since. It was the first
Android phone was made in the Vietnam with lots of cool apps and functions.
My phone is with me most of the time and even though I know it’s not good for
my eyesight, I can’t help but use it on a daily basis and for more than 6 hours a
day. I can’t deny that this multifunctional device has a big influence on my life,
both positively and negatively. I no longer need dictionaries, notebooks, a
camera, a music player or a TV because now I can look up new words, take
notes, capture photos, listen to music and watch films on the screen of my
phone.
However, the drawback is that I am somewhat overdependent on it. If my phone
suddenly runs out of battery or I forget it at home when I am outside, I may feel
vulnerable and lonely. This phone has helped me a lot with my work and study
but I am thinking of reducing the time using it for my well-being.
Part 2:
In communication perspective bring more benefits. First, thanks to some
effective apps such as Skype and Facetime, people can communicate with
others all around the world at any time without distance barrier.
For example, some people who live away from their home especially overseas
students can meet their loved ones through smart phones or tablets to ease their
homesickness.
From business perspective, more and more companies take full advantage of
advanced technologies as a tool to run their own business such as e-commerce.
To sum up, the development of communication technology can create a lot of
significant advantages, however, we also need to have some measures to deal
with its drawbacks.

Part 1
The website that I frequently visit is ted.com, which is spelled T-E-D .com. It’s
a website where people can get access to a great number of videos. There are
frequent speeches and talks given by inspirational people who aim to motivate
the youngsters and also to share their fresh perspectives with them.
I discovered this website when I was in grade 7. The occasion happened when I
was searching for the information for my presentation. As I surfed the Internet, I
learned about this amazingly informative website. It offered me a wide range of
knowledge
I really love TED because I not only use it on academic purpose but also
consider it when I need some source of entertainment. Like, whenever I feel
stressed or depressed and need to figure things out, TED is my get away from
life. When I listen to those great minds, I feel like I’m motivated. So that’s
basically why TED really comes in handy for me
That is all what I want to present. Thank you for listeing
Part 2
The first drawback is that customers cannot try products before making a
purchase. For example, a girl cannot try wearing a dress to see if it fits her body.
Furthermore, products sold online are often less reliable, and the product that
people finally get delivered to their house might have a poorer quality than
expected. Finally, because online shopping is easier and cheaper, people tend to
buy too much, which would lead to a large waste of money. This is less likely to
happen if shopping in stores is more popular.
SET 7
Part 1
I’m going to talk about Jenny. Actually, Jenny is her English name; she is
Vietnamese. But I’ll use Jenny because I know she likes that. She’s the same as
me. She lives near my house and we are classmate
If I were to describe how she looks I would say Janny is a very gorgeous and
charming girl who always attracts a lot of attention from men. She is much
shorter than me. Mai also has straight brown hair and deep, dark brown eyes.
When I met her firstly, she was quite shy and did not want to talk with anyone.
However, when we became close friends, she was more sociable and amiable..
Studying at the same schools, we have done a lot of things together. So, we
usually throw parties at the weekends or have a picnic together.
Besides, whenever I get into trouble, I turn to her for help. For example, I
remember when I got bad marks in the mock university entrance exam, she
consoled me and then we studied together until the official exam took place.
Finally, we had the opportunity to study at our favorite college.
I’m so lucky to have a friend like her.

Part 1
To the best of my recollection, my high school was located right in the middle
of my city. When in the days when I was still studying at secondary school, this
school had always been my dream school because it looked incredibly
beautiful.. Today, I’m going to tell you about my high school, which was the
place I spent nearly three years during my childhood.
Looking at the school from the outside, we could see a very big white gate at
the front with the school’s name left it. Near this gate, there was a parking area
where students and teachers. There was a library, a computer lab, a canteen and
two big playgrounds full of flowering plants. The school building itself was
enormous so it could easily be seen from quite a distance.
Inside, the first thing I noticed about this place was that it was well-equipped
with a range of modern facilities, including an air conditioning system and a
number of tables made of high-quality wood. All the walls were painted in
multiple bright colors, which really made it stand out from the surrounding
buildings
For me, high school was a place full of beautiful childhood memories. I will
definitely pay a visit to it when I can
Part 2
Can this modern technology replace teachers too? Is this technology
sophisticated enough to teach children the way virtual teachers do? Is the need
of human teachers being eliminated?
Everyone has a different perception. But what I believe is that the answer is a
‘No’.
It is significant that we remember, a teacher is more than just a facilitator of
knowledge. A teacher also acts as a guide, a mentor and an inspiration for
students, a role that cannot be replaced by technology of any kind. Human
interaction cannot be replaced by computers and human skills cannot be taught
by technology.
SET 9
Part 1
Being a people living in my 20s, I strongly believe that I should choose a right
path for my career. I think a job in Marketing field will suit me well.
I had spent a great amount of time on defining my strengths and weaknesses as
well as asking for advice from other people. After that, I came to a conclusion
that my outstanding skill is present. Since I was studying at the secondary
school, my teacher the teacher commented on me that way. Along with, I think I
have my analytic skills and creativity
Even though I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge of Marketing and
I am currently working in Marketing department of company at home, I still
have a long way to go before knowing it inside out. I also hope that I can be
good enough to get some promotion in near future.
Part 2
Students shouldn’t work a part-time job while they are studying
Working while studying leaves the students with less or no time to nurture their
hobbies or talents. What’s more, students working part time have to handle a lot
of pressure at such a tender age. It could even hurt their performance at school
or university because they may not have enough time for their studies. Many
studies have proved that the academic output of youngsters with part-time job is
not on par with their counterparts who do not work part time.
SET 10
Part 1
I’d like to talk about a team project that I was involved in the first year. Our task
was to work with a local company to research a new market, in a European
country, for one of their products or services. Our objective was to produce a
report and give a presentation.
The first thing we did was split into two groups of two. We had been assigned a
company that design fashion, so two of us spent some time getting to know the
company while the other two researched the market and the competitors in the
target country. In the end, I think it was a successful project because we
managed to identify a possible gap in the market for one of the company’s
products. Our group presentation also went really well.
I felt a real sense of accomplishment when we handed in our report and
delivered our presentation, and I think all of us were proud of what we had
done.

Part 2
