Formal training and development are training and development programs, courses, and
events that are developed and organized by the company. Informal learning refers to
o
learning that is learner initiated, involves action and doing is motivated by an intent to

develop, and does not occur in a formal learning setting. Knowledge management is the
vi y re
process of enhancing company performance by designing and implementing tools,
processes, systems, structures, and cultures to improve the creation, sharing, and use of
knowledge. These are all related to learning and creating a learning organization because
they all correlate with one another. They are like steps in a learning process.

3. What steps are included in the training design model? What step do you think is
most important? Why?
is
Th
The steps that are included in the training design model are 1) Conducting Needs
Assessment, 2) Ensuring Employees' Readiness for Training, 3) Creating a Learning
Environment, 4) Ensuring Transfer of Training, 5) Developing and Evaluation Plan, 6)
Selecting Training Method, 7) Monitoring and Evaluating the Program. I think the most

important step is step number three Creating a Learning Environment. This step is most
important because employees will be more comfortable, relaxed, and able to learn better
if the environment compliments learning.

ou urc
The most difficult role would be project management. This would be most difficult since
it requires you to mange managers. The easiest role would be coaching since the only
thing you really have to do is work one-on-one with employees to help them develop.

8. How might technology influence the importance of training professionals’ roles?
vi y re
Can technology reduce the importance of any of the roles? Can it result in
additional roles?
Technology might influence the importance of training professionals’ roles by more
ed d
employee-learning staff ratios and improve learning efficiency. It can result in additional
ar stu
roles since there are more programs being used and fewer new courses. This will result in
instructors having to teach employees.

9. Describe the training courses that you have taken. How have they helped you?
Th
Provide recommendations for improving the course.
I have taken simulated games for a job as part of training. This honestly for me was not
helpful at all. I feel as if hands on training is a better way to learn. Also, more coaching
sh
while I was in training would have been helpful.
