CHAPTER - 2
INTRODUCTION
Building stone is one of the major being used in infrastructural projects,
mainly as an aggregate in concreting. In addition, it also finds its application in
stone masonry constructions, as railway ballast, filler material. Water Treatment
Plants as filter media etc. Depending on the size of the material, building stones
are being classified as size stones, coarse aggregate, fine aggregates etc. Even the
fine powder, which is the resultant of crushing of building stone, finds its usage as
finishing coat for black top roads. A mining feasibility study is an evaluation of a
proposed mining project to determine whether the mineral resources can be mined
economically. Mining makes an important contribution to the regional or national
economy. Prefeasibility Studies are an early stage analysis of a potential mining
project cost. Feasibility studies are required throughout the pre-production stage of
every mining project. The PFR conducted to help sort out relevant alternatives.
The objectives are following.
All possible project alternatives have been examined
The project concept justifies a detailed analysis
The environmental situation at the planned site and EIA study report at the
planned site and potential impact are in line with national standard.
Any aspects are critical to its feasibility
