Course Title : Earth Science
Prerequisites : None
No. of Units : 3 units

Course Description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of environmental science. The following related topics/fields: Earth’s place in the universe, dynamic earth
processes, energy in the earth system, biochemical cycles, structure and composition of the atmosphere, and geology will be tackled. By using an "earth systems"
approach, you will recognize society and the environment as an interrelated system.
Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. understand the basic facts, principles, theories and methods of modern environmental science.
2. Develop content knowledge about Earth as a system, landform processes,Earth's history, the Sun-Earth-Moon system, and weather and climate.
3. Appreciate the contributions of science to the human knowledge base about the earth and its place.
4. Demonstrate awareness of the earth’s vital role and understanding of the relationship between the environmental factors that affect our world.
5. Ability to apply scientific methods and skills to discover new perspectives on the earth.
6. Appreciate the value of diversity and understand the range of local and international issues facing today's global community
