1) Look up an ERP deployment case study on the internet. How did it go? What was the
duration of the process? Is there any information in the case study on the amount of
money spent by the organization?
To enhance Hershey’s company’s competitiveness and customer service the ERP
was implemented. But unfortunately, the implementation failed. The
recommended duration process was 4 years but the company demanded for only
2.5 years. The overall project cost was US $10 million.

2) Would you explore cloud computing if you were a small business owner with minimal IT
resources? Look for some information on the internet that can help you make your
selection.
Yes, I would explore cloud computing. As it allows the users to access important
programs and data stored on a remote server anywhere, they have an internet
connection. Plus, it is helpful for having a backup especially on business files,
when facing some issues like cybercrime or suspicious attacks then the there is a
backup for the data. Also, cloud computing have the following benefits like
extremely accessible data, maintains consistency between users, allows for remote
programs, easy data backup and cost efficient which it can help small businesses
operates more efficiently.

3) Visit sourceforge.net and go through their most popular software downloads. You should
keep track of the many programs you come across. Then choose one that piques your
attention and report on what it does, the level of technical assistance provided, and user
feedback.
The software that piques my attention is LiveAgent, it is a fuly-featured web-
based live chat and helpdesk software. LiveAgent harnesses the power of a
universal inbox, real-time live chat, built-in call center, and sa robust customer
service portal. Some of its features are automated ticket routing, rules and
workflow automation, automated callback, powerful built-in CRM, and others.
Most of the user’s feedback for LiveAgent software is good.

4) Read an article on open-source software security threats. Write a brief analysis
expressing your thoughts on the various hazards highlighted.
As SMS text messaging makes communication easier some users take advantage
on it to do some illegal actions like phishing. In which many users easily attract
and trust on a certain message. That’s why it is necessary to educate users
especially when it comes in using SMS text messaging. As it can cause various
problems like loss of data/information of a certain people or an organization.

5) What are three programming languages that you can think of? What characteristics of
each language make it valuable to programmers?
The three programming languages that I can think of are Java, JavaScript and
Python. Java is the most popular programming language; it is simple as its coding
style is very clean and easy to understand, also, Java is providing platform
independence which leads to a facility of portability which ultimately becomes its
biggest strength. JavaScript on the other hand, is a programming language which
can be used to update both HTML and CSS. Some of its characteristics are object-
centered script language, light weight and delicate, interpreter centered and
others. While Python is a programming language that is interpreted, object-
oriented ang high-level programming language with dynamic semantics. It is easy
language, readable, open-source, popular and large community support and
others. Each programming languages have different characteristics that makes it
valuable to programmers which becomes useful, efficient and effective for
developing software.
