Fusion - Oracle Fusion Architecture

The document describes the architecture of Oracle Fusion applications. It includes the desktop tier, application tier, and database tier. The middleware tools in Oracle Fusion include Identity Manager (IDM), Authorization Policy Manager (APM), Business Process Management (BPM), Universal Content Management (UCM), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Business Process Execution Language (BPEL). IDM/OIM (Identity Manager):

 In R12: We need to create User and assign responsibilities to User through
SYSADMIN then user can access the system.
 In Fusion: Create User and assign roles to User through IDM to access the system.
To manage user roles and user-role assignments.

APM (Authorization Policy Manager):

 To setup the access for which application and what kind of access users may require
accordingly privileges pre-defined in the APM. To manage Duty Roles and data roles.
Also IDM will depend on APM.

BPM (Business Process Management):

 Using BPM we can define or setup approval workflows. In R12 we have AME and in
Fusion they replaced with BPM.

UCM (Universal Content Management):

 To import the data from Templates to Oracle Interface.

SOA (Service Oriented Architecture):

 It is going to integrate third party application with Fusion.

BPEL (Business Process Execution Language):

 Integration perspective.

Database:
We are having two types of data bases and Data flow from Fusion Applications to Oracle
Database then Essbase Database.
1. Oracle Database:
 It is used to store the transaction base data like R12.
2. Essbase Database:
 It is used to store the Summarized Balances data for preparing reports.
 Using this database, Oracle has offered solutions like Hyperion Financial Mgt,
Hyperion Financial Planning and Hyperion Financial Reporting to improve the
reporting capabilities.
 Essbase data will be maintained in the multi-dimensional cubes.
