Victimhood Culture

The document discusses the concept of a 'Victimhood Culture' among various Muslim groups, particularly focusing on the Rohingya Muslims and the Palestinians. It argues that this culture fosters a mindset of perpetual victimization, leading to a lack of accountability and a reliance on external validation and support. The author contrasts this with 'Honor' and 'Dignity Cultures,' suggesting that the entrenched victimhood can hinder progress and recovery within these communities.

BENGALI ‘ROHINGYA’ MUSLIMS -

TRAPPED IN A
GLOBAL MUSLIM VICTIMHOOD CULTURE
by Rick Heizman, Nov 1, 2021

Worldwide, Muslim groups, countries, and lands are exhibiting and living in a Victimhood
Culture. The Palestinians are a prime example, along with the Muslims in Kashmir; the
recent Muslim migrants in Australia, France, Sweden, UK, Spain, and Germany; and the
Muslims in India, southern Thailand, and Rakhine State in Myanmar. Even Muslim groups
in the USA are steeped in identifying, exaggerating, manipulating, and/or manufacturing
situations and incidents in order to be (falsely) outraged, insulted, and violated - in a
never-ending global Muslim victimhood industry and parade.

Disclaimer 1: Of course not every single Muslim is like this, but very, very many are - and
actually it can be quite dangerous for Muslims to NOT be a ‘victim’ and thereby suffer
great consequences by being branded and severely punished as an apostate, hypocrite,
heretic, or traitor to the cause.

Disclaimer 2: This paper is not meant to deny or trivialize that there may be real
grievances, discrimination, and wrongdoings, but, as this paper will lay it out, a
Victimhood Culture usually is a culture engaging in many of the SAME behaviors against
those that it is complaining about.

WHAT IS AN ISLAMIC VICTIMHOOD CULTURE?

An Islamic Victimhood Culture focuses Muslims to see themselves, and

their religion, as oppressed, mocked, and misunderstood (even by other
Muslims) worldwide. Muslims are (or perceive that they are) harassed at
airports, subject to suspicion and scrutiny, distrusted, irrationally feared,
insulted and ridiculed on social media, criticized and mocked for wearing
head coverings, nijabs, and burkas, and always having to brace
themselves for unwarranted (and imagined) backlash after news of yet
another terrorist attack by Muslims on, yet again, innocent non-Muslims.

This scenario of widespread, constant, and endless global victimization

of Muslims is echoed and granted credence from the halls of universities and academia,
to the woke, virtue-signaling, social justice warriors (who themselves are a Victimhood
Culture) to the Muslim advocate organizations such as CAIR (Council for American Islamic
Relations). As well there are the strident utterances of self-appointed Muslim
spokespeople for Muslims, and the well-intentioned but bewildered, non-Muslim useful
idiots, pointing fingers in all directions except where they should be pointed. All of these
people and groups will bellow relentless accusations of ‘Islamophobia’, ‘racist’, ‘hate
speech’, and ‘supremacist’ against all perceived critics of Islam. This has led to a global
industry of Muslim victimhood, with its ideologues laying down a set of conventions about
how Islam and Muslims must be thought of, spoken of, and acted towards under the
threat of being accused of insulting Mohammad, Allah, and the Quran.

1
WHAT ARE CHARACTERISTICS OF A VICTIMHOOD CULTURE?

• A Victimhood Culture generates a society of people who identify foremost as being

oppressed victims. Victimhood becomes a central part of one’s identity, and/or of a
group, or a national identity.

• A Victimhood Culture avoids any sense of responsibility, cause and effect, karma, or
tolerance, and expects that outside forces are obliged to ‘save’ the innocent victims.

• An Islamic Victimhood Culture has a set of grievances that are mostly based on the
supremacism inherent in Islam. Their grievances are not predicated on any rational
standards of equality, justice, compassion, or logic, but on a supremacist worldview.

• Islamic ideology indoctrinates Muslims into believing that they are unquestionably and
divinely superior to non-Muslims - whom Muslims dehumanize as dogs, pigs, and apes,
based on ‘infallible' Quranic verses - and imbues Muslims with this sense of superiority.

A history of perceived humiliation, after all, lurks behind many acts of terror.

And competing narratives of victimhood and insults sustain conflicts in the

Balkans, the Caucasus, the Middle East and many other regions.

• A Victimhood Culture seeks to attract the attention of third parties (UN agencies, ICC,
ICJ, OIC, and/or terrorist groups) to highlight and/or fight for their cause.

• A Victimhood Culture creates an expectation of entitlements which demand

governments and world bodies to intercede, force reparations, and punish the accused,
but does not require any accountability or recognition of possible wrongdoings of the
Victimhood Culture.

• A Victimhood Culture allows blame-shifting, excuse-making, and self-pity to thrive as it

keeps victims from being accountable - in any way - for their own dilemma. This may
actually perpetuate a fixed victimhood mindset that prevents the victims from being
able to progress past their current circumstances.

• Victimhood status is highly coveted because it tends to empower victimized groups,

which then may be perceived as morally superior, entitled to aid, money, and world
sympathy, and protected against any sort of criticism and/or investigation.

• A victimhood mindset grants a momentary sense of power - as their grievances are

amplified, and moral superiority - as their self-image of innocence is pitied.

• There is tremendous capital to be gained from the idea of Muslims as privileged victims
and from peddling the exceptionalism of Muslim suffering.

• Victimhood Cultures will ruthlessly reject any of its own people and their non-
victimhood views if they don’t support the dominating Victimhood Culture.

• A Victimhood Culture glorifies its gangsters, drug lords, weapons smugglers, militants,
and criminals of their culture, showcasing them as heroes that the youth will emulate.

2
• A Victimhood Culture can become so entrenched that it is like an incurable cancer that
becomes hopeless, joyless, and soulless as it relentlessly marches on to greater
despair and ultimate death.

• A Victimhood Culture is oppressed by their own corrupt, entrenched, entitled, and

shamefully self-interested leadership, who have become dependent on the victimhood
syndrome to cover their means of amassing their power, eliminating rivals, and
embezzling the financial handouts that are ostensibly for the needs of the people.

• Victimhood Cultures have an incentive to magnify the severity of the conflict resulting in
exaggeration, distortion, and even wholesale fabrication. Outside parties are part of this
manipulation as they further highlight just how victimized the victims are. This has even
given rise to ‘competitive victimhood’ where different Victimhood Cultures argue (or
fight) that they are the more downtrodden victims and thus the more deserving victims -
of more help, sympathy, money, and pity.

• A Victimhood Culture can become addicted to the attention, exposure, protection, and
financial rewards, reparations, etc, and if or when attention and aid diminishes the
Victimhood Culture may threaten, intimidate, assault, and/or commit violence against
those who were assisting - as a drug addict does when there is no more drug supply.

• As victims come to believe that they have righteous moral virtue, it is not surprising that
the Victimhood Culture would perpetrate hoaxes for the gullible media and social media
to feverishly showcase. With a perverse sense of moral confusion and misguided social
justice activism, both victims and activists think that perpetrating hoaxes will further
their cause and that lying about such events is justified. According to the Quran lying to
advance Islam is a legitimate and acceptable tool to use (in Arabic known as Taqiyya).

Many Muslims struggle with a pervasive sense of inferiority influencing all their beliefs,
their sense of justice/honor, and their own identities leading to deep and irrational
grievances. The inherent supremacy of Islam and its fascist ideology is predictably
appealing, however it is also retrograde, and furthers the Victimhood Culture, but offers no
way out of it.

Victimhood Culture can be very dangerous for people or groups stuck in their self-
perception of being inferior, disliked, unwanted, and perpetually hopeless, thereby being
the most affected and most persecuted victims.

Nazism arose from German’s sense of victimhood - as a result of the Versailles Treaty.
Communism was predicated on workers regarding themselves as hopeless oppressed
victims of the bourgeoisie oppressors.

Much of the Islamic terrorism today emanates from a belief that Muslims worldwide are
victims of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and any others they can blame.

3
FOR MOST OF ITS HISTORY ISLAM WAS NOT A VICTIM CULTURE -
IT WAS AN HONOR CULTURE

Islam was NOT originally a Victimhood Culture at all - in fact, for 1000 years it was not -
and Mohammad was not a victim. From its birth, during the lifetime of Mohammad (6th
and 7th centuries), Islam was on a perpetual conquest in all directions by armies of
Muslims armed with their Qurans and swords, slaughtering all other faiths under the
approving eyes of Allah. The spread of Islam was swift, severe and (usually) irreversible -
Muslims had the power and the conviction. They certainly were not victims. The millions
of victims of the conquering Muslims were true victims (NOT of a Victimhood Culture).
During that 1000 years, up until the 17th and 18th centuries, as Islam spread far and wide,
Muslims belonged to Honor Cultures.

WHAT IS AN HONOR CULTURE? CHARACTERISTICS OF HONOR CULTURES

(Notice: the definition of ‘honor’ - as in ‘honor’ culture - is different than a modern

definition of ‘honor’ as a measure of showing high respect, the quality of a person,
honesty, compassion, valor, and chivalry, morally upright, noble, and virtuous).

• In an Honor Culture, people (primarily men, indeed, honor is often equated with
masculinity) must maintain their own honor, their family honor, and their clan honor by
responding to offenses, insults, slights, violations of cultural behavior, with quick and
violent repercussions, which may even appear to be completely irrational, inhumane,
criminal, or insane (by the standards of other peoples and faiths).

• Traditional Islamic Honor Cultures tend to be highly patriarchal, subordinating women

and prohibiting any degree of women expressing their womanhood and sexuality. In
such cultures, honor violence, honor killings, and honor punishments (acid-burning,
mutilations, rape, etc) occur - men beat, punish, or even kill their daughters, wives,
sisters, or other female relatives for dishonoring the family by removing their head
coverings, niqabs, or burkas, wearing ‘Western’ clothes, interacting with males,
especially non-Muslim males, dancing, singing - many such acts that ‘violate’ men’s
complete domination over women. These acts of violence committed in the name of
family honor likely have a long history in various human societies. Today, they are
concentrated in predominately Muslim nations and among their emigrant communities
in Western countries.

4
• Killing one’s daughter or wife for ‘offenses’ such as
getting a job, talking to a man, and/or wearing modern
clothes, would seem outrageous, repugnant, and
absolutely criminal, however the man has regained his
honor and that is more important to him. He may not
even be arrested or punished because it may not be
illegal (depending on country) - that is the way of an
Honor Culture. As well, sometimes women may honor kill, or assist an honor killing of
their own daughter, and deflect any blame because regaining honor is integral to their
culture (or to their indoctrination, brainwashing, and Quranic ideology).

• Honor Cultures typically do not value or respect the rule of law, law enforcement, nor a
judicial system which may be weak, non-existent, or corrupt. A man must stand up for
himself and his own honor, and not rely on others to repair, regain, and exhibit their
honor.

• Honor rises and falls when one man (or a group) publicly challenges the willingness of
another to physically defend himself, his family, his clan, or his property and hence
uphold his honor right or equate him with equal honor. To uphold his honor a man need
not beat his opponent, but he must display a willingness to fight him.

• A man of honor will not hesitate to use physical force to combat any assault, theft,
insult, or other attempt at subordination of himself, family, gang, or clan. Honor - unlike
the more stable value of dignity - can be won or lost,
regained or re-lost.

• The issue which caused dishonor is not as important as the

display of - or the public display of - disrespect which
dishonored a man. In an Honor Culture one cannot ‘let it go’
- it must be challenged quickly, violently and publicly.

A Victimhood Culture may have elements of Honor Culture within it, but an Honor Culture
is not a Victimhood Culture. Likewise, a Dignity Culture may have elements of Honor
Culture within it, but a Dignity Culture is not a Victimhood Culture.

DIGNITY CULTURE

A Dignity Culture is a more evolved culture which can emerge from a Honor Culture or a
Victimhood Culture. Of course, people in an Honor Culture may disagree about a Dignity
Culture being defined as more evolved - they would see it as a weaker culture.

A Dignity Culture assumes that all men and women of all types have dignity that does not
have to be earned or defended by force. People in Dignity Cultures rely more on laws, law
enforcement, courts, and judicial procedures to settle major disputes, and will be more
likely to shrug off insults, slights, and issues that would need to be addressed swiftly and
strongly in Honor Cultures. The saying, (or an equivalent saying), “Sticks and stones may
break my bones but words will never hurt me" is a concept that is imbued in Dignity
Cultures, however, is foreign to Honor Cultures.

5
People in a Dignity Culture tend to trust others more easily,
including strangers, whereas in an Honor Culture one is usually
suspicious of others, especially strangers, and may only trust
family, gang, or clan.

EXAMPLES IN THE WORLD

Countries or cultures may have a combination of Victimhood, Honor and Dignity Cultures,

and/or may evolve or devolve from one of these to another. Examples:

• Until its defeat in World War 2, Japan was an Honor Culture, and after its defeat
became a Dignity Culture.

• After WW 1, Germany became a Victimhood Culture, then as the Germans launched

WW 2 in Europe it became an Honor Culture, and after its defeat became a Dignity
Culture.

• The USA was predominantly founded as a Dignity Culture as enshrined in its

Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights, and has continued as a
Dignity Culture (for the most part) until its more recent and quick descent into a
Victimhood Culture.

• Countries ruled by dictators, generals, Ayatollahs, or terrorist group leaders may be

considered as having an Honor Culture which rules over the Victimhood Culture or the
Dignity Culture.

• Myanmar (now) is ruled by an Honor Culture repressing a Dignity Culture.

• Most (if not all) Muslim countries are an Honor Culture, more specifically an Islamic
Honor Culture.

THE PALESTINIAN VICTIMHOOD CULTURE

The Palestinian Victimhood Culture narrative has entrapped and imprisoned not only the
Palestinians themselves, but much of the Middle East, the United Nations, and much of
the world body politic for 7 decades.

The Palestinians are so entrenched in their Victimhood Culture that they can’t evolve out
of it, they seem to only drag down and drain not only their own people, but, other Muslim
and non-Muslim countries, UN agencies, and other world institutions as well.

Elevating Palestinian Victimhood to be the defining feature of an entire culture should be a

‘crime against humanity’ considering the resources drained and the damage incurred.

The ‘Rohingya’ Victimhood Culture is on the same path.

When your victimhood is your empowerment,

recovery is the enemy,
and working on ‘individual or group change’
becomes counterproductive,
even dangerous to your identity.
6
THE ROHINGYA and the PALESTINIAN VICTIMHOOD CULTURES are VERY SIMILAR

The Bengali Muslims of Rakhine State, Myanmar / Arakan (also known by a more recent
term, ‘Rohingya’) have been immersed in their Victimhood Culture for about 75 years - the
same timeframe as the Palestinians. There are many similarities with the Palestinian
Victimhood Culture, ie:

• They both have adopted a term of identity based on a location that was, and is, a
homeland of the non-Muslim dominant culture of that area. The term ‘Palestinians’
came into usage in the 1960s, thanks to Yasser Arafat. The term ‘Rohingya’ was first
invented in the 1950s, but did not come into common usage (by the UN, New York
Times, Human Rights Watch) until the 1990s.

• They both use a name of the land that is NOT an Arabic, or other Islamic language
name. Palestine is from the Roman era term for the land - Palaestina, or Filastin.
Arakan is the name of a great Buddhist Kingdom. Why would they use an infidel term?

• In both cases, the land is littered with artifacts and ruins of the non-Muslim inhabitants,
but not the Muslims. They both have manufactured an unsupportable false history in
order to attempt to validate their victimhood.

• They both do not have a separate language - the Palestinian people speak the same
Arabic as the surrounding Arab countries. The ‘Rohingya’ speak the Chittagonian
dialect of Bengali language, which like other major languages has many dialects.

• They both have never had their own nation, kingdom, or self-ruled entity.

• They both are so immersed in their Victimhood Culture that they can’t extract
themselves.

People can become so blinded by their own perceived victimhood

that they make victims of everyone around them.

• Besides being victims and terrorists, what else are Palestinians and Rohingya people
known for?

• They both rely on false and manipulated photos, narratives, and media to attempt to
support their grievances. The Palestinians practically have an industry - the Palestinian
atrocity factory - known to the outside world as Pallywood, which issues videos of
actors with bloody make-up acting in false atrocity videos. Actual atrocities are so
infrequent that they have to be manufactured in order to stir up outrage and justify a
defensive jihad. The Rohingya do the same with less skill.

• They both take NO responsibility at all for their dilemma. They are light-years away from
recognizing or apologizing for ANY wrongdoing they have committed. They know
nothing about cause and effect, truth and consequences, karma and dharma, or
sayings such as: “As you sow, so shall you reap", and, “Do unto others as you would
have other do unto you”, and “What goes around comes around”.

7
• They both expect money, goods, weapons, etc to be provided to them, with no
accountability.

• They both are striving to eradicate the other people and all other faiths on the land. A
Palestinian victory would result in an apartheid state populated by Muslims only. A
Rohingya victory would result in an extermination of all non-Muslims and a similar
autonomous Islamic State for Muslims only.

THE FUTURE

Throughout the world the goals of Islam are one and the same: To dominate the world by
crushing and obliterating all other faiths and their followers, and that is what they did for
1000 years as they conquered infidel lands in all directions. During that time they operated
as Islamic Honor Cultures (they were NOT Victimhood Cultures). Nowadays Islamic
Victimhood Cultures (with some Honor Culture characteristics as well) dominate in the
Muslim world, and the Islamic agenda has a need to stoke the fires of unwitting Muslims
into believing in their own manufactured sense of victimhood as a means to exploit both
malleable Muslims and the gullible liberal democracies of the Western world. As Muslims
claim persecution, discrimination, profiling, or victimization, liberal democracies are
manipulated and pressured to sympathize, pity, protect, and serve the Victimhood Culture
and further its agenda for the ‘victimized’ Muslims.

If Islam cannot be criticized, investigated, and exposed, and if Victimhood Cultures

continue to smother and indoctrinate the Muslim world, and manipulate the woke, virtue-
signaling, morally confused Western world, Islam will continue to exploit and devour both
Muslims and non-Muslims in its pursuit for power and dominance - over everyone
everywhere.

We need to be able to—and must—criticize Islam and Muslims freely, as we criticize other
faiths, cultures, beliefs (however you wish to describe Islam) and its followers without
being slapped with the lazy and illiberal charge of being Islamophobic, anti-Muslim, racist,
or some combination thereof.

The land of Z is populated by the A, B, C, D, E, F, and G peoples.

All of these groups live harmoniously with each other - except the B people.
The B people threaten, intimidate, and disrespect all the other groups and
display their contempt, intolerance, and supremacism to them.
The A, C, D, E, F, and G people have been victims of attacks and massacres
by the B people too many times and live in constant fear of the B people.

Which group of people should change, evolve, or live elsewhere?
