Commencing with the Software version 3.2 shows the controller about a visual flashing code
some failures in the SAUER control.
When appears a failure in the control e.g. the Sensor for the steering together or alone (depend
from the failure) send the SAUER controller signals to the both steering lights. Depend from the
failure, the operator will see that the steering lights will make an flashing code. This flashing
code will default which problem has the controller found.
The failure code will repeated all 10 seconds.
E.g. Failure code number 1 unique flashing all 10 seconds
Failure code number 8 8 flashing all 10 seconds
One flash takes 0,5 seconds.
E.g. Failure code number 1 0,5 seconds flashing and 9,5 seconds
with switched off LED.
Failure coda number 8 8 flashing with 8 x 0,5sec. LED on and
8 x 0,5 sec LED off followed from 2 sec.

Adjustment procedure for the potentiometer changing
In the working live time of the machines can it happen, that the mechanic
or the driver have to change one of the potentiometers.
- Steering potentiometer: P/N 434022416
- Speed potentiometer:
Wheel machine P/N 434022837
Crawler machine P/N 434022866
- Food pedal: P/N 348030053
After the changing of the potentiometer you have to educate the
potentiometer to the controller for this you have to do the following
procedure.

1. Switch on the ignition key on position 1
2. Than push the hydraulic main switch to activate hydraulic system

3. Than you have 10s time to educate the potentiometer
4. Push the steering full to the left side, than full to the right side and
than accurate in the middle.
4.1 Turn the speed potentiometer from “Zero” to 100% maximum and
back to “Zero”

4.3 Push the food pedal tow times full through.
5. The adjustment is finish
6. Switch off the ignition key
7. Now you can start the machine and the failure must be solved.
7.1 If not! The flashing code starts again
Please make the adjustment procedure again.

In the case it is necessary to change the controller you have to
do the following steps
1. Switch off the machine (ignition key on zero position)
1.1 Switch off the main battery switch
2. Open the cover plate on the right side of the dashboard
2.1 Disconnect the electrical plug to the from the black
controller.

In the case it is necessary to change the controller you have to
do the following steps
3. Change the controller
3.1 Connect the plug to the new controller
4 Switch on the main battery switch
4.1 Switch on the machine (about the ignition key)
5 Start with the adjustment procedure for the potentiometer
(please look on page 6 till page 8)
6. After that you have to teach the starting current for the
hydraulic motor’s to the controller. For these please
follow the next steps.

6.1 Speed - Potentiometer to “Zero” position
6.2 Joystick in “ Zero” position

6.3 Change the gear switch to rabbit
6.4 Change the display to actual driving speed on the tamper
and vibrator controller, Push the button with the pages in
the middle short time.

In the case it is necessary to change the controller you have to
do the following steps
6.5 Adjust the engine RPM to maximum
6.6 Push the counter rotation switch so long up till the
steering lights starts to flashing

6.7 If the lights are flashing, than change the gear to turtle.

In the case it is necessary to change the controller you have to
do the following steps
6.8 After that, the machine starts to move very slowly by
itself. If the machine has reached 1,3m/min to 1.4m/min in
the tamper display, you can stop the procedure.
6.9 Switch off the machine and than starts normally to test if
the procedure was correct. Test the machine!
7. If the result is not OK, please start the procedure again
