Additive Caking Test Method

The Additive Caking Test involves weighing a 100g sample placed in a beaker glass, applying a 3 kg load, and storing it in a 40°C oven for 7 days. After the period, the beaker is inverted to measure the weight of fallen samples, determining the percentage of caked material. The results are recorded for multiple samples to assess the caking behavior under simulated warehouse conditions.

Additive Caking Test

Apparatus and Method

Apparatus Method
• Beaker glass • Sample is weighed 100gr, and put into beaker glass
• Load • Applied load on sample
• Put beaker glass inside 40oC oven for 7 days
Testing Condition • After 7 days, remove load, then reverse the glass until the position is upside
down
Temperature
40oC to simulate WH temperature • Measure the weight of fallen samples when glass is reversed (A)
• Apply impact until no more sample falls from the glass
Stress on Sample
• Weigh the fallen sample (B)
Applied load above sample to simulate load received by additive in warehouse.
Load used in this testing is 3 kg.
