The COVID
the new virus

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by

a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people who fall sick with

COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover

without special treatment. The virus that causes COVID-19 is

mainly transmitted through droplets generated when an

infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are

too heavy to hang in the air and quickly fall on floors or

surfaces. You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are

within proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a

contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose, or mouth. This

new virus has kept us away from our beloved people and locked

us up in a quarantine that it's feeling like ages. But despite all of

that, we MUST know how to protect ourselves and others, by

simply follow the preventive measures that the OMS says. In this

reportage, we will see the most important things to be healthy

during this pandemic, but we have to remember that our mental

health is important too for being healthy and happy.

What to do
to avoid COVID-19

Let's be safe!
To prevent the spread of COVID-19:
Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.
Maintain a safe distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.
Don’t touch your eyes, nose, or mouth.
Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough
or sneeze.
Stay home if you feel unwell.
If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.
Calling in advance allows your healthcare provider to quickly direct you to the
right health facility. This protects you and prevents the spread of viruses and
other infections.
Masks
Masks can help prevent the spread of the virus from the person wearing the mask
to others. Masks alone do not protect against COVID-19 and should be combined
with physical distancing and hand hygiene. Follow the advice provided by your
local health authority.
COVID outbreak

Do not visit nursing homes, retirement communities, or hospitals, unless

you are providing critical assistance.
Those at a higher risk for COVID-19 complications—older adults, people
with heart disease or lung disease, people with diabetes, people with
autoimmune disorders, and those with compromised immune systems—
should stay home and limit contact with others.
Avoid physical contact with others. Greet people with waves or nods
rather than hugs, handshakes, or kisses.
Avoid social gatherings over 10 people, and avoid close contact with
others.
Do not assume that having no symptoms means that you are healthy.
Do not stockpile. Keep necessary health items—such as soap, tissues, and
alcohol-based sanitizer—on hand, but do not accumulate more than you
need.
Conclusions
Difficult times
The COVID-19 outbreak is disrupting daily life
for people in Arkansas and across the globe.
Teachers and students are transitioning to
digital learning, professionals are adopting
unfamiliar roles and working remotely, and
everyone is spending more time at home and
away from others.

Take steps to promote good mental, physical,

and emotional health during the COVID-19
pandemic.
