Operation Precautions
Pay attention to the following precautions when
plugging/unplugging a board:
Since there are many CMOS components in the board, make
sure to wear the anti-static wrist strap for connecting human
body with the equipment protection ground.
If the equipment is not connected with the protection ground
yet, the antistatic wrist strap will not take effect.
There is normally a bag of desiccant in the static-shielding
bag, which is used to absorb the moisture of bag keeping it
dry from inside.
When the board is carried from a dry place with low
temperature to a moist place with high temperature, wait for
at least half an hour before unpacking and installation.
Otherwise, moisture will condense the board surface,
resulting in board damage.
While plugging/unplugging the board, keep it upright and use
appropriate force to avoid bending the contact pins.
Plugging Board
Purpose To plug a board correctly.
Prerequisite Before installing service/functional interface board, open or
remove the small door at subrack left side. Figure 40 shows the
small door.
Steps 1. Check the slot layout and available slots for the board
specified in the design document.
2. To plug a board, place the ejector lever at horizontal
position by pressing the spring plate of ejector lever.
3. Grasp the upper and lower ejector levers, and push in the
board exactly along the guide rail. The board must be kept
vertical throughout the process, and apply appropriate force.
4. When the board is about to get into position, clamp the
bayonet of ejector lever with front beam of the subrack.
5. Push the ejector lever up/down wards with both hands
exerting proper force unless the ejector lever stands upright
and produces the locking sound of "clatter".
6. Check the board connector should be fully inserted into the
motherboard socket. In this case, the board panel should be
in parallel position with outer frame of the board area in the
cabinet.

Packing
Packing Cabinet
Purpose To pack the ZXMP S325 cabinet in a proper way so that the
cabinet is well protected during transportation.
Prerequisite Normally, before the cabinet of ZXMP S325 is transported, all its
components, except the boards that are easily get damaged
(such as optical line board with optical module), should have
been installed (including the subrack installed with some boards,
motherboard, fan unit, dustproof unit, power distribution box,
and alarm indicator board).
Steps 1. Place sponge washers between the ZXMP S325 cabinet and
the front/back door plate.
2. Outside the cabinet, wrap 3 m rubber paper around the
front/back door plates to fix them tightly.
3. Pack the cabinet with a vacuum bag, and protect cabinet
edges with cushions.
4. Fix the cabinet with gum paper, and then put it into the
wooden case.
END OF STEPS
Packing Subrack
Purpose To pack the ZXMP S325 subrack if it needs to be delivered in
independent package.
Packing Board
Purpose To pack boards that are easily get damaged (such as optical line
board with optical module).
Steps 1. Pack each board that is easily get damaged with a special
antistatic bag.
2. Put two small bags of desiccant into the antistatic bag.
3. Seal the antistatic bag with transparent adhesive tape.
4. Put the antistatic bag into a paper packing box. Protect it
with antistatic sponge washer or cushion. Each board is
packed in a paper packing box as shown in Figure 108.
END OF STEPS
Packing Accessories
Purpose To pack accessories of ZXMP S325.
Transportation
1. Transport the products after they are properly packed. Cover
the packages with canvas to protect them against dampness
and rain during transportation.
2. The products should be stacked in good order. Stockpiles
should be compact, safe and sound so that they will not sway
or slide in transportation, which may damage the products.
Do not place the products upside down.
3. In long distance transportation, products must not be loaded
in open vessels or vehicles. During transshipment, do not put
the products in open warehouse. Do not transport products
together with flammable, explosive or corrosive material.
Keep the product parts away from rain, snow, liquid or any
mechanical damage.
4. Handle the products gently with care, and prevent any
toppling or upside-down placement.
5. Reduce transshipments as much as possible. Transport and
load/unload products using machines, and with great care.
Storage
1. For storage, the components should be kept in the original
packages which are protective.
2. Make sure that no component is lost.
3. The warehouse that stores the components should be kept in
proper order. The quantity of stock should be labeled. The
warehouse should be dry, the indoor temperature should be
within the range of -10 °C to +40 °C, and the relative
humidity should be no more than 75%. In addition, the acid
gas, alkaline gas, and other toxic gases in the air should be
in compliance with the regulations of environment protection.
4. All packages have damp-proof requirements, i.e. packages
should be placed on the racks that are at least 30 cm above
the ground and 40 cm away from the wall.
5. Packages should be stacked according to the diagram
instructions on the package. Stack layers should not exceed
the specified limit.
6. The packaged products should be used as soon as possible
after acceptance, preferably within six months. Unpack
product packages within three months after arrival.
7. In some special cases, the supply party and demand party
can negotiate specific requirements for transportation and
storage.
