The document discusses the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Development Plan. The Philippine Development Plan aimed to create inclusive growth, a resilient society, and a globally competitive knowledge economy. It helped increase GDP and reduce poverty but the government's pandemic response hurt economic progress. The MSME Development Plan encouraged entrepreneurship to increase jobs and livelihoods in line with national goals. It provided a model for supporting small businesses that could still apply today and inspire young people to start companies.

Philippine Development Plan 2017- 2022

The video that was played for us "Aksyon para sa Ambisyon: Philippine

Development Plan 2017-2022" is a video from NEDA headquarters, and "Bawal

ang Pasaway: Estado ng Philippine Development Plan, Alamin" is Prof. Winnie

Monsod's interview with Sec. Ernesto Pernia. Are talking about the first medium-

term plan based on this long-term national vision. It aims to lay a more solid

foundation for more inclusive growth, a trust-based and resilient society, and a

globally competitive knowledge economy. The 0-10 Point Socio-Economic

Agenda, regional consultations conducted by various planning committees, and

social development summits all guided these priorities, which culminated in the

2017-2022 Agenda: Malasakit at Pagbabago. The second video was an interview

in which the status and performance of the Philippine development plan's were

discussed. It informs us of what has been accomplished and what has not.

When I first saw this, my first reaction was to the plan to boost GDP; it

had been a success in recent years, with our GDP increasing by 6.7 percent,

despite the fact that in 2018 and 2019, the country's GDP growth slowed to 6.2

percent and 6.0 percent, respectively. This was due to global headwinds, which

included an increase in protectionism, particularly among developed economies.

I believe that our economy's growth was reaching the poor; there was a lot of

benefit given in the year prior to the pandemic. And, come to think of it, the

government's plan or administration was reasonable just before to the

pandemic. There is an improvement in employment numbers in 2017 and 2019,

despite a decline in 2018 due to the additional year for basic education and the

effects of the TRAIN Law and Infrastructure program on reduction of poverty

incidence in 2018. In comparison to other lower middle-income countries, our

country was also viewed as an innovator, scoring above average in most

innovation dimensions.

It was simply disappointing to see how the government handled the

pandemic, which resulted in a further drop in our GDP today. As the country

grapples with the financial consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the

government's strategies and interventions must be refocused toward a healthy

and resilient Philippines.

MICRO,SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The video we saw was an overview of DTI Philippine MSME, as well as the

city of San Fernando's improvements and accomplishments after implementing

the MSME development plan. It was an interesting challenge for us Filipinos to

introduce more entrepreneurial opportunities to our community. Just as the San

Francisco Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) conducted their strategies to improve

many entrepreneurs' businesses and encourage more people to participate, how

about the government do the same for the entire country?

The micro, small, and medium enterprise development plan aimed at

encouraging more Filipinos to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. the MSME

sector's strategic plan for growth and development was created in collaboration

with a variety of private-sector, academic, and government stakeholders. It is in

line with the Philippine government's goal of increasing employment, business,

and livelihood, or "Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan," which translates to

"Malasakit," "Pagbabago," in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-

2022's "Patuloy na Pag-unlad.". MSME continues to include plans which have left

the intended modes of implementation in their formulation, and above all, their

intent to fully develop the capacity of the sector and utilise the potential of that

field for the benefit of the country.

This was an inspiration for us future entrepreneurs to be involved in

bigger things in order to create more jobs and contribute to the growth of the

nation's economy. This was a great plan that I see as feasible even in today's
situation, as we can see there are more businesses open and ecommerce

businesses that started as a result of the pandemic. Filipinos' resourcefulness

and motivation will help other students and young people understand that there

is more to earn when you are an entrepreneur.
