"It takes a village to educate the learner". Relative to this and to realize the RA 8525 "Adopt-a-School Program Law", DepED Memo. No. 186, s. 2019 "Brigada Eskwela Implementing Guidelines"; DepED Order No. 10, s. 2017/Joint Circular No. 1, s. 2017 "Revised Guidelines on the Use of Provincial Special Education Fund"; BSP National Office Memorandum No. 26, s. 2016 "BSP Supports Brigada Eskwela" among other issuances are crafted and issued. Tom Bentley argues effective education involves the whole society - families, work places and the community all help to stimulate and develop children and young people's ability to learn and understand. Children and young people have performed better where schools have utilized the variety of networks, organizations and activities available in the community. This is particularly evident for schools located in disadvantaged communities where partnering with external organizations has boosted the capacity of schools to improve outcomes for students and address barriers to learning.
This year's theme is “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”. This entails networking and partnerships among the Provincial, Municipal and Barangay Local Government Units, Government Agencies, Alumni, Parents, Civil Society Group, Church Organizations, Private Sector, Business clubs, Professionals, among other individuals or groups.
In line with the spirit of volunteerism and bayanihan, the DepED wishes to request to: _______ a. share an hour or more of your time in helping our public elementary and secondary schools repair or rehabilitate dilapidated buildings, landscape, clean1 plant trees or vegetables, among other school maintenance works; and/or _______ b. donate any of the following items/materials needed for the schools maintenance week: (_) construction/repair materials; (_) health and hygiene kits; (_) first aid or emergency kits; (_) seedlings or seeds; (_) cleaning materials; (_) finishing and printing materials; (_) others (please specify) __________________________ _
