I. Title : SUMMER 2021 ENGLISH ENHANCEMENT SEMINAR

II. Project : PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR EMPLOYEES

III. Target : SECNCI Basic Education Department faculty, College of Education


Department faculty, College of Criminal Justice Education faculty, Administrative Officers and
Staff

IV. Rationale :

The English Department is concerned not only with developing the students` skills
and knowledge on the importance of good communication skills but also developing the
grammar and speaking skills of the institution`s teachers and staff. This program aims to
enhance the confidence of the target group by promoting and developing basic
communication skills among them.

V. Objectives :

1. To develop the teachers` and staff`s abilities in grammar, oral, reading,


writing, and study skills;
2. To help improve their speaking abilities in English both in terms of fluency
and comprehension; and
3. To strenghten their ability in the composition of professional and official
communication letters.

VI. Work Plan :

1. Date : May 24 and 25, 2021


2. Venue : The Jars Function Hall

3. Persons Involved:
 Basic Education Department Faculty

 College of Education Faculty

 College of Criminal Justice Education faculty

 School Administrators and Staff

 English Department Personnel

4. Strategies :

 The English Department will form working committees for the upcoming
event.
 Schedule a meeting with the working committees to discuss the things that
st be prepared.
 Inform all the get participants about the event.
 Post the event details on the SocMed chat groups and pages
 Invitation / Program will be released line
 Follow the new normal safety protocols released by IATF and by the
institution.
 Assign topics to the speakers
 Request the needed materials earlier

5. Estimated Expenses:

SUCCESS INDICATOR

Each speaker is encouraged to give assessment tasks within their time of discussion. These shall
basically assess learning and development among the teachers and staff in the subjects. It is expected
then that the target employees:

a. Show confidence in speaking during discussion;


b. Refreshed themselves of the importance of communication skills;
c. Write simple communication letter using concerns of their respective offices in
practice tasks;
d. Learn points in advance grammar and fluently use them in speaking and writing
practices and assessments; and
e. Submit all outputs required by the speakers with substantial and better results.
