1. INTRODUCTION
A New Gas Pipeline project interesting the territory of Serbia is foreseen. The pipeline route starts
at the Bulgarian-Serbian border (cross-border point is located near Zaječar) and ends at the
Serbian-Hungarian border (cross-border point is located near Horgoš). The Project also foresees
relevant Gas Pipeline facilities such as compressor station, gas metering stations and block valve
stations.

Particularly, the functional elements of the Project are the followings:

o Pipeline (Sections 1÷4):

The Pipeline is divided into 4 sections:
- Section 1: from the Bulgarian/Serbian border (near Zaječar) to Žabari, total length about 147 km
(from 0 km to 147,012 km),
- Section 2: from Žabari to Kovin total length about 48 km (from 150 km to 197,768 km),
- Section 3: from Kovin to Gospodjinci total length about 112 km (from 198 km to 310,072 km),
- Section 4: from Gospodjinci to the Serbian/Hungarian border (near Horgoš) total length about
92 km (from 310,100 km to 402,069 km).

Within these sections n. 18 BVSs and the following n. 4 GMSs are envisaged:

- GMS1 (km 0,257) on the Bulgaria/Serbia border near Zaječar (KО Prlita) (in PL Section 1);
- GMS2 (km 84,134) with the branch pipeline near Paraćin (Cadastral Municipality Bošnjane) (in
PL Section 1);
- GMS3 (km 217,717) on the branch pipeline near Pančevo (Cadastral Municipality Pančevo) (in
PL Section 3);
- GMS4 (km 309,612) on the branch pipeline near Žabalj, Cadastral Municipality Žabalj (in PL
Section 3).

o Compressor Station (Section 5): n. 1 Compressor station (near Velika Plana, km 144,666)
including auxiliary facilities (exact technical parameters shall be defined in the Project, location
of Compressor Station could be optimized in the Project).

2. SCOPE
2.1. Hydraulic Test Procedure
2.1.1 Preparation for testing
After completing the assembly-welding works on the tank 500-TA-008A/B and providing the proof
of performed works (proof of quality of the basic and additional materials, information on performed
measurements and their tolerances, results of welded joints testing, …) hydrostatic testing can
commence.
For purposes of testing it is necessary to seal all of the tank 500-TA-008A/B shell tie in points
(except the attachment for water supply for testing) are to be closed. Openings on the roof should
be open, for the prevention of excessive overpressure, i.e. vacuum. At several levels on the tank
benchmark points are to be marked for the purpose of monitoring the foundation subsidence.
Technical/potable water, temperature form 10 oC to 50 oC, is to be provided for testing by Investor.
In order to conduct a safe test before the start of the test, perform a check:
- Are all flange connections well tightened and contain correct seals as per approved Flange
 Are the danger zones marked and are the notification posted at the danger zone and are
the access prohibited.
- Are people from danger zone removed.
- Is unnecessary equipment from the zone removed.
- Is the temperature of the test medium controlled (the temperature of the metal during testing
must be at least 25 ° C above of the impact temperature).

2.1.2 Testing

The tank 500-TA-008A/B is to be filled with water as follows:

- Up to 1/4 with the speed of max 45 cm/h
- Foundation, elevations, shell be geodetic measured, checked and recorded. Elevation
readings and settlement shell be taken after minimum 1h holding time.
- Up to 1/2 with the speed of max 45 cm/h
- Foundation elevations shell be geodetic measured, checked and recorded.Elevation
readings and settlement shell be taken after minimum 1h holding time.
- Up to 3/4 with the speed of max 30 cm/h
- Foundation elevations shell be geodetic measured, checked and recorded.Elevation
readings and settlement shell be taken after minimum 1h holding time.
- Up to 460 mm below top course with speed of max 25 cm/h

During the hydrostatic testing constant visual control of all important elements of the construction
of the tank must be performed. The hydro test must last at least one day for to exclude the shell
perspiration. Then by the means of, visual control, the permeability of the shell is established.
When the tank is full, the anchor bolts should be tightened.
Due to the possibility of foundation subsidence, all outside pipelines, as well as pipelines in the
tank pit (if any) are to be connected after the hydrostatic testing of the tank and pit.
When performing the hydro test the control of the steel construction and control of the foundation
subsidence should be coordinated (consult the construction project designer).
When emptying the tank, it is obligatory to leave open the roof attachments, for the prevention of
the appearance of vacuum.

2.1.3 Detailed description of the tanks fill and discharge

The tank is filled with water from the CS hydrant network. They are connected to the Ø2 "fire hose
with standard connections. The hose is at its other end connected to the tank at the point of the
nozzle D1 of the diameter 4 "150 # where the tank will be charged, and for that purpose is made
an adapter for connection of the firewater hose to mention nozzle.. The water in the hydrant / water
network varies from 4-6 bar.
Charging rate defined in item 4
The tank discharge should be after the tank was filled up to the test filling height and 24 hours
holding time. Overflow water from the tank into the field or where Investor decide (not longer than
100m away from discharge nozzles) is done via same nozzle D1, or even together with nozzles T1
and T2.
During the discharge period all top (roof) nozzles shell stay open.
